3,000 Year-Old Experiment Cures Migraines Naturally

All these years I've been taking pills and trying all sorts of weird-tasting herbal remedies, but my migraines still haunted me daily. I don't know what exactly causes my migraines.

Even my doctor told me it could be a multitude of factors: diet, sleeping habits, fitness, and the most dreaded one of all - stress.

When doctors can't pinpoint what is wrong with you, they push the blame to stress. It's vague enough to stop you from doing all the things that stress you out. Which is basically everything in life.

Is Non-Conformity a Mental Disorder?

Do No Question Authority
If Albert Einstein was a youth today, there’s a good chance he would be saddled with an Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) diagnosis, possibly even Opposition Defiant Disorder (ODD) as well.

He ignored his teachers, failed college entrance examinations several times and was hard-pressed in holding down a job.

In Einstein: The Life and Times, biographer Ronald Clark argues that Einstein’s problem wasn’t attention deficits at all, but rather a hatred of authoritarian, Prussian influences in school.
“The teachers in the elementary school appeared to me like sergeants and in the gymnasium the teachers were like lieutenants,” Einstein once remarked.

Akashic Records -- The Book of Life

Edgar CayceThe Akashic Records or The Book of Life can be equated to the universe's super computer system. It is this system that acts as the central storehouse of all information for every individual who has ever lived upon the earth.

More than just a reservoir of events, the Akashic Records contain every deed, word, feeling, thought, and intent that has ever occurred at any time in the history of the world.

Much more than simply a memory storehouse, however, these Akashic Records are interactive in that they have a tremendous influence upon our everyday lives, our relationships, Akashic body our feelings and belief systems, and the potential realities we draw toward us.

The Wisdom of Quantum Physics

In addition to explaining the true nature of the Universe and of reality, quantum physics, even at the most fundamental and non-mathematical level also fully explains the reality as experienced on a daily basis by all life, whether consciously or otherwise, profoundly affecting the reality of every single person without exception.

Quantum physics illustrates how everything in the Universe, in all dimensions of life and reality ultimately consists of “Quanta” of Energy, vibration. This Energy not only pervades and is integral to everything in existence, it is also “living” Mind, living Consciousness. Everything in the Universe therefore has its being within this infinite intelligent Energy.

Everything is an aspect of this infinite intelligence, every person, every animal, every tree, every star and every planet, and every micro-organism, however small, is ultimately an equal aspect of the very same Energy; there is no seperatedness except as an illusion created by the ego and five physical senses; we and everything in the Universe without exception are one.

80-Year Study Proves Happiness Creates Health

How people describe both positive and negative events in their lives influences their perception of their own life.

When scientists began tracking the health of 268 Harvard sophomores in 1938 during the Great Depression, they hoped the longitudinal study would reveal clues to leading healthy and happy lives. They got more than they wanted.

After following the surviving Crimson men for nearly 80 years as part of the Harvard Study of Adult Development, one of the world's longest studies of adult life, researchers have collected a cornucopia of data on their physical and mental health.

Adventures in Erotic Hypnosis

By Rachel R. White/ Source: New York Observer

Emily, a 24-year-old burlesque dancer with creamy skin and dark curly hair was at a party in Manhattan a few summers back when she lost her vagina. It was a worrisome feeling. She ran around the crowded loft frantically looking under bags and coats yelling, "I've lost my vagina!"

"Where did you see it last?" asked one friend with a laugh. "Do you have insurance on it?" wondered another.

But Emily wasn't kidding. She could feel the tears welling up, at which point her date, a longtime friend, walked by and snapped his fingers. She dropped an armload of coats.

"Never mind, you guys," she said. "I found it!" Disaster averted.

Emily laughed as she retold the story on a chilly day in McCarren Park. But she could still revisit the sense of panic she'd felt, the result of an experiment with erotic hypnosis. Now, she's become a practitioner of hypnosis herself.

The Best Time of Day for Superior Brain Power

By Sara Reistad-Long, Prevention

It's not just your energy level or weight that fluctuates over the course of a day. Did you know that your brain obeys its own rhythm too? It's based largely on your human clock, sleep pattern, exposure to light, and genetic makeup—and getting in a groove with its tempo can make you healthier, happier, and have more energy.

As cutting-edge research shows, you can burn more calories from exercise, work more efficiently and improve concentration, and even have better sex by learning how to synch up to your circadian rhythm and brain's power hours. Here's your daily guide.

Neuroscientist: "Dogs Are People Too"

By Gregory Berns, Author of How Dogs Love Us
For the past two years, my colleagues and I have been training dogs to go in an M.R.I. scanner — completely awake and unrestrained. Our goal has been to determine how dogs' brains work and, even more important, what they think of us humans.

Now, after training and scanning a dozen dogs, my one inescapable conclusion is this: dogs are people, too.

Because dogs can't speak, scientists have relied on behavioral observations to infer what dogs are thinking. It is a tricky business. You can't ask a dog why he does something. And you certainly can't ask him how he feels. The prospect of ferreting out animal emotions scares many scientists. After all, animal research is big business. It has been easy to sidestep the difficult questions about animal sentience and emotions because they have been unanswerable.

Until now.

A CIA Self-Help Book: How to Make Friends and Interrogate People

An “elicitation”, they call it. The word “interrogation” has such nasty connotations, doesn’t it? Especially when used in conjunction with the letters C, I and A.

So three alumni of the US intelligence agency aim to rebrand the inquisitorial process with a new book called Get the Truth: Former CIA Officers Teach You How to Persuade Anyone to Tell All.

Philip Houston, Michael Floyd and Susan Carnicero believe the methods that have helped them to winkle out traitors in various unspecified sandy locations could help all of us in our business and general lives. And, perhaps, as parents.

The 7 Most Influential Self-Help Books of All Time

Who Moved My Cheese
Each year, publishers inundate us with new self-help books promising to teach us how to be better: better parents, better spouses, better workers, better organizers, better everything!

It’s enough to make the head spin. However, every so often a self-help book rises to the top and morphs into something of a cultural phenomenon. These winners often spawn a school of wannabes and lookalikes (bookalikes?), but the originals retain something special.

Here are seven self-help books that were groundbreakers in their day, and have stood the test of time. Make sure you also don't forget to read these iconic books.

How to Have Unstoppable Self-Confidence

By Dr. Robert Anthony,
Creator of
Unstoppable Self Confidence

Are Your Dreams Being Held Hostage?
What has been stopping you? Think of all the things you haven't done yet and ask yourself, "What has been stopping me?" I can almost guarantee you that Self-Confidence is the culprit and is stealing your greatness…
  • Do you secretly fear if you ask for what you want you will be rejected?
  • Do you place other people’s opinions above your own?
  • Do you have trouble believing in yourself?
If you answered ‘Yes’ to any of these questions or if you’ve ever watched someone negotiate a successful deal, walk up to a stranger and ask for a date, start their own business, entertain or give a speech in front of a large group of people and you remember thinking, “I wish I could do that, but I’m just not that confident” then Self-doubt, fear and lack of Self-Confidence are holding you back from achieving your goals.

A 7-Day Mental Detox for a More Positive Life

At the start of the New Year or as each season rolls around, many people follow a cleansing diet, or a detox, in order to get their bodies in tip-top shape.

These diets normally limit processed, high-fat, and sugary foods, and replace them with more whole foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, and legumes.
However, few people think of following a mental detox. In essence, your thoughts are brain food. A mental detox consists of limiting thoughts that trigger negative emotions, and substituting them with thoughts that lead to feelings of peace and joy.

7 Day Mental DietI came across the idea of a mental detox in a pamphlet I found online titled The Seven Day Mental Diet, which was written by a spiritual leader of the 20th century named Emmet Fox. Here’s Fox:
“The way our bodies work is based upon the food we put into them. The mind is no different. . . Everything in your life today is conditioned by your habitual thinking. The way you have thought in the past has led you to where you are right now.”
The diet consists of the following: for 7 consecutive days, you’re going to carefully select your thoughts. During those seven days you will not hold on to any negative thoughts. If you’re willing to take this challenge you’ll discover what to do, below.

20 Things You Need To Let Go To Be Happy

Let Go Let God

Everyone has one common goal in life: to achieve true happiness. The biggest factor holding us back from achieving our dreams is, simply and sadly, our own selves. We put limitations on ourselves everyday, whether intentionally or unintentionally. There are so many ways we can alleviate these restraints.

Remember, life can either be something you embrace or something you hide from. Stop making things complicated and just live your life. It would be so much simpler and more enjoyable if we learned to just release certain limitations.

Let's take a look at the things you need to let go of in order to become a happier person.

How to Harness Your Magnetic Power

Affirmations
By Dr. Anne Marie Evers, Author of
Affirmations - Your Passport to Happiness

The magnetic field that surrounds the human body is called the aura and I refer to it as your Magic Magnetic Circle.

Everything and everyone has a magnetic aura. The aura extends around every part of the body, even around each strand of hair. You can experience a feeling of discomfort when a person gets too close, or inters into your space or aura.

Your aura is a real and vital force even though it cannot be seen. We cannot see the air we breathe or the wind that blows, but we can feel them.

To experience this energy or aura, rub both of your hands together briskly and place them together facing each other several inches apart. Can you feel the energy pulsating?

How to Use Psychic Seduction to Make Them Want You

Reality Creation Secrets

By Enoch Tan,
Creator of
Secrets of Mind and Reality

When you use psychic seduction on others, your thought will originate within their mind. It is because your mind and their mind are one Mind. They will be thinking the thoughts of interest, desire and attraction that you project towards them, and they will think it was their idea.

Therefore sometimes when you find yourself noticing someone and thinking thoughts of interest or attraction for no apparent reason, it may not actually be originally your idea but are thoughts directed from that person to you.

Top 10 Secrets of Personal Magnetism

By Hamilton Miller / Author of Elite Social Control

PTC’s and Magnetic Statements are essential for mental domination, but they need the support of the Magnetic Moves.

The Magnetic Moves give it the final touch. Others may overlook many drawbacks you have, but not your failure to perform the Magnetic Moves.

These sweep everybody off their feet. It is obvious how tremendous they must be for mental domination.

The Magnetic Moves are easy to learn. Even people with below average intelligence can study them, apply them with little trouble, and gain phenomenally from them.

With these, women with ordinary minds and looks have won choice husbands. Men of inferior birth have become the associates of presidents, kings, and queens. Nothing will make you more welcome anywhere. With these moves, con artists have pulled off amazing frauds, and men have been elevated to positions of affluence over men with far more ability.

How to Use Meditation to Gain Esoteric Powers

By A. Thomas Perhacs, Creator of
Chi Power Training
 and Mind Force Hypnosis

There normally comes a point in your life that you think life is too harsh. You want to escape reality even if just for a little while. Indeed, there is literally no one in this world who doesn't seem to wish to be able to forget all the hustles and bustles in life even for a very short time.

Feeling so tired doing your daily activities, it makes a worthwhile reason to get rid of the negative vibes and voices in your head. One technique which some individuals apply is that of meditation to perform truly esoteric skills.

Meditation is believed to endow a particular kind of clarity of the mind as well as put the body into such a relaxing state. This means that the physical body loses its connection to the outside world.

Top 6 Ways to Improve Mental Energy

Are you one of those that have to wake up day to day to do those routines that most of us hate? Things like, waking up, eating your breakfast in a hurry, face those people you don’t want to see at work, go home and eat, sleep, and then, repeat! Such scenarios I’m telling you will be the same until we die. Life must be cursed, but undeniably, it looks like it is.

This repetitive cycle often drains not only our physical energy but most importantly our mental energy. Sometimes we reach the point where even our mind just won’t work. Before you get addicted to such state, here are helpful ways to improve mental energy.

How to Fight a Raging Bull with Your Mind

MindTrip Magazine
The investigator, dressed incongruously in sweater and tie and holding a small metal box, stands in a bullring. He taunts a bull with a gesture of his hand. Suddenly the bull faces him and charges. Taking a couple of steps back, the investigator presses a button on the box to send a radio signal, and the bull halts in mid-stride. It turns away. The animal’s natural aggression has evaporated.

This risky behavior-control demonstration, conducted in Spain in 1963, was the signature experiment of José Manuel Rodríguez Delgado, a physiologist and scientific showman who explored the varied responses of the brain to electrical stimulation.

During the middle decades of the twentieth century, Delgado grew notorious for using electricity to elicit rage, anxiety, pleasure, drowsiness, and involuntary movements in his animal and human subjects. Critics complained that he was paving the way for mind control; Delgado countered that changing the functioning of brains through electrical stimulation was not necessarily a bad thing.

How to Fall Asleep In Less Than 30 Seconds

Does it take you a while to fall asleep at night? Do you find your mind dwelling on various thoughts before you're able to finally drift off and relax into sleep?
Do you find that you just aren't sleepy enough when it's time for bed?

Realize that if it takes you 15 minutes on average to fall asleep each night, that's more than 91 hours per year that you're wasting. This is the equivalent of spending more than two 40-hour workweeks just lying in bed waiting to fall asleep.

And if you have insomniac tendencies and take more than an hour to fall asleep each night, you're spending more than nine 40-hour weeks on that pointless activity — every year. That's a tremendous amount of wasted time.

If you'd like to change this situation, keep reading. I'll explain the details and share a process for training your brain to fall asleep almost instantly when you're ready to go to bed.

5 Famous Books Inspired by Dreams

Jonathan Livingstone Seagull

By Beverly Jenkins / Source: ListVerse

Everybody dreams, but most of the time our dreams are nothing more than the subconscious mind processing thoughts and feelings from our waking hours. Yet, every so often a creative individual has a vivid dream which inspires them to put pen to paper and create a great work of literature. Below are five examples of famous novels that were inspired by their author’s sleeping mind.

1. Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer

In June of 2003, suburban Arizona mother Stephenie Meyer woke up from an intense dream in which two young lovers were lying together in a meadow, discussing why their love could never work. On her website, Meyers says, “One of these people was just your average girl. The other person was fantastically beautiful, sparkly, and a vampire. They were discussing the difficulties inherent in the facts that A) they were falling in love with each other while B) the vampire was particularly attracted to the scent of her blood, and was having a difficult time restraining himself from killing her immediately.”

The Longevity Formula of a 256-Year-Old Chinese Herbalist

By Martynas Jocius,
Author of Mind, Productivity and The Good Life

According to the official records, herbalist Li Ching-Yuen was born in China in 1677 (although he himself claimed that he was born in 1736). Throughout his long life, he constantly practiced herbalism and martial arts.

In 1930, the New York Times newspaper printed an article in which they published official Chinese government documents that were uncovered.

These documents, dating back to 1827, contained official congratulations on Li Ching-Yuen's 150th birthday. Later documents, dating back to 1877, contained official congratulations on his 200th birthday.

How did he do that?

The Ageless Secrets

Sex is the Secret to Looking Younger

Dr David Weeks, former head of old age psychology at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, said people need to be aware of the benefits of having a healthy sex life, particularly in their later years.

He said sex has a number of health benefits which can make men and women look between five and seven years younger which includes; it causes the release of endorphins, the 'feel good' chemical which acts as a natural painkiller and reduces anxiety aiding sleep; exercise boosts circulation which is good for the heart; and it also causes the human growth hormone to be released which makes the skin look more elastic.

Is Yoga a Sex Cult?

By William J. Broad / Source: NY Times

The wholesome image of yoga took a hit in the past few weeks as a rising star of the discipline came tumbling back to earth. After accusations of sexual impropriety with female students, John Friend, the founder of Anusara, one of the world's fastest-growing styles, told followers that he was stepping down for an indefinite period of "self-reflection, therapy and personal retreat."

Mr. Friend preached a gospel of gentle poses mixed with openness aimed at fostering love and happiness. But Elena Brower, a former confidante, has said that insiders knew of his "penchant for women" and his love of "partying and fun."

Few had any idea about his sexual indiscretions, she added. The apparent hypocrisy has upset many followers.

"Those folks are devastated," Ms. Brower wrote in The Huffington Post. "They're understandably disappointed to hear that he cheated on his girlfriends repeatedly" and "lied to so many."

But this is hardly the first time that yoga's enlightened facade has been cracked by sexual scandal. Why does yoga produce so many philanderers? And why do the resulting uproars leave so many people shocked and distraught?

Top 10 Myths about the Brain

By Laura Helmuth / Source: Smithsonian.com

1. We use only 10 percent of our brains.
This one sounds so compelling—a precise number, repeated in pop culture for a century, implying that we have huge reserves of untapped mental powers. But the supposedly unused 90 percent of the brain is not some vestigial appendix. Brains are expensive—it takes a lot of energy to build brains during fetal and childhood development and maintain them in adults. Evolutionarily, it would make no sense to carry around surplus brain tissue. Experiments using PET or fMRI scans show that much of the brain is engaged even during simple tasks, and injury to even a small bit of brain can have profound consequences for language, sensory perception, movement or emotion.

True, we have some brain reserves. Autopsy studies show that many people have physical signs of Alzheimer’s disease (such as amyloid plaques among neurons) in their brains even though they were not impaired. Apparently we can lose some brain tissue and still function pretty well. And people score higher on IQ tests if they’re highly motivated, suggesting that we don’t always exercise our minds at 100 percent capacity.

Can Women Enlarge Their Breasts With Hypnosis?

Women who are unhappy with the size of their breasts go with the general notion that surgery is the only effective tool for breast enlargement. However, many women shy away from it, since the surgery is expensive and there are many health risks involved.

But what if you could enjoy the benefits through an entirely natural and non-invasive method such as hypnotherapy?

The concept of breast enlargement via hypnosis has reportedly been proven. A British counseling psychologist, Felix Economakis, who is also a hypnotherapist, claims that he can help women enlarge the size of their breasts by three cups just by hypnotizing them.

How to Own a New Ferrari and Be As Smart As Einstein, Just By Calmly Sitting On Your Couch

By Martynas Jocius,
Author of Mind, Productivity and The Good Life

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." — Albert Einstein

After a hard day of work, I was sitting on my couch with my eyes closed. I decided to meditate, even though I had no clue what would happen. After just fifteen minutes, my mind started to quiet and relax. It was an amazing feeling! I felt as if my heavy and tired body started to lose hold on gravity, and just like dandelion fluff had started to float above a sunlit meadow in a gentle summer breeze. And that was just the beginning.

After a few more minutes, I was absolutely free, relaxed, and the fierce, blazing fire of thoughts in my mind became a low simmer. My body disappeared, and with it the couch I sat on, my room, and my whole house. Everything vanished. Of course, I still knew that I was sitting in a real room – but my mind simply didn't construct it that way anymore. My body was in bliss, and I enjoyed increased energy, because when the mind relaxes it stops many of the thought processes that otherwise burn through our energy. (95 percent of the time, our mind is just running in a hamster wheel of worries, with no purpose except to expend energy and make us exhausted.)

Was Steve Jobs a Mystic?

Are people like Steve Jobs more than just savvy businessmen and inventors? Or did they have access to some sort of higher power or wisdom that allowed them to go beyond what normal people accomplish?

I've often wondered about this. This is what I found.

In the international bestselling biography, Steve Jobs, by Walter Isaacson, the following was said about Steve:
"Throughout his life he would seek to follow basic precepts of Eastern religions, such as the emphasis on experiential prajna, wisdom or cognitive understanding that is intuitively experienced through concentration of the mind."

20 Questions to Help You Fall In Love

Love That Lasts

In this age of endless connection, we are more disconnected than ever and most relationships don’t go very far beyond the surface. Maybe it’s because we hold ourselves back or maybe it’s because we no longer have the tools to genuinely connect, like face-to-face and via conversation.

In order to build the foundation for a relationship, you need to create a meaningful connection, and this comes when you truly connect with who the other person is.

How to Easily Become a Miserable Loser

Misery is everywhere. Everywhere you look. That’s a fact. I see lots of it around here in Eastern Europe where I’m living now. Eastern Europe is a dreary, unhappy, miserable place.

I also saw it in New York when I was there last year. Lots of unhappy people. New York is an unhappy place, especially in the winter. The subway cars get overcrowded. Everyone is grumpy. Then the snow falls and there are all kinds of delays. Millions of grumpy people can’t make it to work on time. Then the snow melts and you have this ugly black slush everywhere. Nasty. There’s no other word to describe it. It’s really nasty.

But most of all, I see this misery right here on the Internet. Like right on my own blog. I write a random post, hit publish and moments later an angry swarm of criticism from people I don’t even know fills up the comments area.

Top 20 Self Help Books of All Time

After more than a decade as a public speaker, I've been asked hundreds of times for the best self help books that have made the biggest impact in my life.

After having read hundreds of books in my 18 years as an entrepreneur, I have to admit, it was tough narrowing the list of the best self help books of all time down to only 20. I feel self help encompasses spirituality, financial, physical, relationships and many, many more areas of our lives. Needless to say, this best self help books list is by no means the end all, be all. There are no-doubt many others that will add tremendous value to your life.

For each of the best self help books on this list, I give my highest recommendation. With the new year upon us, I encourage you to jump out of your comfort zone and pick several of these to add to your library and read this year.

So here goes…. (drum roll, please)

The Science of Enlightenment

MindTrip Magazine
A Navy SEAL, broad-chested and strongly built, floats peacefully on the water, as his recent deployment to a war-torn country becomes a distant memory.

Sealed inside a pitch-black sensory deprivation tank in the Mind Gym at Navy SEALs headquarters in Norfolk, Va., electrodes attached to his head, he has reached an altered state of consciousness referred to as “ecstasis” or “stepping outside oneself.”

It’s a state achieved by many others throughout time. High-performance athletes are in ecstasis when they ski down huge mountains or surf giant waves. Monks attain it after years of meditation. Mystics feel it when they have visions. And the US government uses it to try to reset their most elite warriors after brutal battles abroad.
