The Weird Benefits of Negative Visualization

Source: MrMoneyMustache.com

A few weeks ago, I got a really interesting email from a guy in Norway that said something like, “Hey Mr. MM.. What you are preaching is Pure Stoicism, with a great twist and perception on today’s world … I love it!!”

“Stoicism?” I asked, “You mean like the Stoics in Shakespearean plays that show no emotion of any sort? That doesn’t sound quite right to me.

But it turns out I had fallen into a common misconception. The Clever Norwegian pointed me to a book on the topic, which I immediately checked out of the library and read completely. It was called “A Guide to the Good Life, The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy”.

From reading the book, I learned that Stoicism was actually a shockingly advanced old philosophy that found many followers in ancient Rome. Although it has fallen widely out of favor in modern life, people in today’s society would probably identify the central ideas as “Hardcore Mustachianism”.

Stoicism, in short, is a series of mental techniques and ways of life that allow you to decrease and then virtually eliminate all negative emotions such as anger, fear, anxiety, and dissatisfaction, while simultaneously building up a tide of pure Joy inside you that eventually starts to make you jump around and boogie at unexpected moments, and occasionally shout out “AHH YEAH!!” as discreetly as possible to yourself when the Joy overflows.

Prosperity Secrets of the Universe

By Brad Jensen, Author of Prosperity Step-by-Step

This is the response to an email message sent to me 'by accident':

I'd like to know if anyone on this forum has gotten rich yet, using his ideas? Let us know. I'm a sales and marketing manager and the only way I can prove my effectiveness is by RESULTS. The best advice in the world won't work unless we put it to work and carry it through. It's one thing to SAY it works, but it's another to DO it and have results to prove it. Any millionares reading this?

It so happens that I am a millionaire, in that I own a company that I created that is worth at least seven million dollars, and I earn an income of over half a million a year.

And I started 22 years ago with a degree in Philosophy/Religion and a borrowed pencil.

I have been diligently exploring prosperity ideas, learning and teaching them for most of the last 20 years.

Being Born Poor Is Bad For Your Brain

Please don't take this the wrong way, but...

What kind of childhood did you have?

I'm not talking about having to put up with bullies, or waking up early to catch Saturday morning cartoons.

I meant more along the lines of...

Did you have your own yacht by the time you turned 5, or were you considered the luckiest kid in town if you had a dishwasher box to play with?

You see...

If you were born "poor", then you're probably missing what researchers are dubbing the "Wealth Factor".

A recent study published in the American Journal of Psychiatry revealed that growing up poor can actually have a devastating effect throughout your entire life.

Researchers at Washington University in St. Louis studied a group of 105 young children over a period of 12 years...

And found that the preschoolers from poorer backgrounds were shown to have weaker than normal connections in certain regions of the brain.

Specifically regions responsible for mood, memory, learning, and emotion... among others.

What this means is not only will they grow up into adults who lack the advantage of "whole brain thinking" ...

(Which is really the secret behind the successes of big names like Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon's Jeff Bezos... read more about it in this FREE report)

These kids were also considerably more likely to suffer from depression later in life.

That's why I asked about your childhood.

How you grew up pretty much determines how the rest of your life turns out.

So does that mean if you grew up poor, then you're destined to die poor AND miserable?

Weatlh Factor
Not necessarily.

You can actually "reprogram" your brain to strengthen the connections between regions responsible for wealth...

Because of something called "brain plasticity".

How To Be Awesome - A Guide To Powering Up Your Brain

You're already awesome, but sometimes you're tired, busy, or for some other reason can't be at your best 100% of the time. When you need to be, however, you can manipulate your brain and body to rise to the challenge. Here's how to fool yourself into living up to your full potential in a moment's notice.

Wouldn't it be great if you could absorb a power star or some sort of video-game-style power-up when you needed to overcome an obstacle that you just don't have the energy for? It's an alluring idea, and in ways, it's more possible than you might think.

Look at it this way: your reasons for avoiding everything from work to exercise to social activity are all self-inflicted. We're subconsciously playing tricks on our brains to avoid doing work. In this article, we're going to look at how reverse the behaviors that cause common problems to solve them instead.

Why Doesn't God Answer My Prayers?

Wealth Beyond Reason
There are a couple of things you've probably heard said over and over. The first is, "Why doesn't God answer my prayers?". What you'll generally hear next is the response which goes something like, "God DOES answer your prayers. Sometimes he just says 'No'".

The fact is, it's not God who says "No". In fact, God - the infinite source of "All that Is", ONLY says "Yes"! God is the ultimate "creation" mechanism. God responds PRECISELY to YOUR creative catalyst.

How to Fail at Meditation

I’m not usually one to get publicly excited about my calendar, but as we went around the room on the first day of a weeklong meditation retreat in Northern California, I found myself explaining my obsession with controlling every aspect of my day.

I held out my iPhone and opened my iCal app: a slew of perfectly organized, multi-colored cells, stretching on for months. I should have been embarrassed, but when someone gasped, I was quietly satisfied.

Not long ago, I decided to get into the meditation game. I went into my calendar and blocked off a chunk of time for it each morning. The further into the future I scrolled, the more time I scheduled for it, confident that by a year out, I’d be meditating for an hour every day.

I downloaded a few meditation apps, settling on one called Headspace, and got to work improving my happiness. But while I didn’t know it, the experts would say I’d run into a problem before I’d even started.

Prayer is Ultimate Way to Solve All Problems

By Enoch Tan,
Creator of
Secrets of Mind and Reality

The first thing you need to believe is in the power of God. Enlisting the help of divinity is the whole basis of prayer. When you pray, you must be conscious of the power of God, otherwise you are speaking empty words to empty space.

The secret of power is consciousness of power. One who prays with consciousness of God’s power, prays a powerful prayer indeed.

The second thing you need to believe is that you have received what you pray for. What you ask is given but you can only receive it by your faith.

How to See the Future with Meditation

By Owen Waters / Author of The Shift

One of the great advantages of regular meditation is that it enhances your sense of intuition. The more you practice meditation, the more you gain insight into every aspect of your life. Insights can relate to present or past events, leading to a greater understanding of your life's path, or they can relate to future events.

Insights into future events can be challenging in four ways:

1. The future is not fixed. Until you experience it, the future remains as an array of possibilities with a "most likely" scenario based on what holds the greatest energy.

2. Viewing the future can change the outcome. Even a 100% accurate view of the most likely scenario will trigger questions about whether you want that scenario to manifest, and that change can influence the outcome. This can give the illusion of inaccuracy in the original prediction.

The Science of Plant Intelligence

Secret Teachings of Plants
For centuries, Western philosophy has viewed animals and plants as unthinking automatons. The famous 17th scientist and philosopher, Rene Descartes, maintained that non-human organisms cannot reason or feel pain; they are robotic machines that purely act on impulse.

While science has recently proven that animals are intelligent creatures, capable of logical thinking and emotional experience, the notion that plants possess a similar kind of intelligence is largely disregarded by the scientific community. It is assumed that because plants do not possess a brain, they have no conscious experience.
