Did Jesus Live in India and Study Buddhism in the Mountains of Tibet?

Jesus Lived in India
My journey to Ladakh began one idle summer afternoon in the dusty stacks of the London Library. I was browsing the volumes in the theology section when I came upon a 19th-century book with an intriguing title: The Unknown Life of Jesus Christ. It was a battered brown quarto, written in French by an author with a Russian name: Nicolas Notovitch.

Notovitch's book told an astonishing story. He claimed to have discovered an ancient text in the sacred Pali language that revealed previously unknown aspects of Jesus's life. According to this text, which Notovitch had translated into French, Jesus had spent his missing years -- the years between his childhood and the beginning of his ministry -- studying Buddhism in India. At the age of about 30, he'd returned to the Middle East and the life that is familiar to us from the New Testament.

Everything Is Energy. Energy Is Infinite. Everything Is Infinite.

After reading this book so far you might be thinking something along the lines of "Nothing is infinite, dummy. Our sun will die out in five billion years, snuffing out everything."

But how many suns are there? There are infinite suns.

Do you really think in five billion years we will still be stuck on Earth? No, we'll be exploring the galaxy and finding new, beautiful planets where humans (or whatever we are by then) can thrive.

And by then, we'll know exactly how to live in harmony with whatever nature exists on those planets, because we'll be five billion years more evolved than we are now.
Or we might just upload humanity into the matrix of some universe-wide-web, and thus live forever in the universal cloud.

Whatever happens billions of years from now, it will definitely be something we cannot even begin to dream of now. But whatever, that isn't the point.

All Time Greatest Muhammad Ali Quotes About Living Like a Champion

Muhammed Ali is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time. He was a heavyweight champion of the world 3 times and has defeated some of the best boxers in the history of the sport. He is known for his incredible speed, strength, and for the controversial statements that he made to the media.

Muhammad Ali quotes are famous around the world. Ali was a passionate and intelligent man that always spoke his mind and was full of wisdom. Unlike most boxes who used their managers to talk for them, Ali wanted to be known in the media. He admitted that the words he said helped him win fights because they intimidated and threw off his opponents.

The Purpose of Life is to Be a Nobody

MindTrip Magazine
We all experience the world like we are at the center of reality.

We think and we feel in relation to how our senses absorb information and how this information mingles with our personal memories. The subjective perception created by these interactions provides the illusion of importance.

We forget that this perception only exists in our minds and that everyone near us is walking around under exactly the same psychological mindset.

In truth, we’re just one of billions, and over the course of history, everything about us is insignificant. Even people like Newton and Einstein, who we revere for their contributions to humanity, are only slightly less insignificant.

Our universe contains one septillion stars (a one followed by 24 zeroes) and a lot of these stars contain many, many more modes of dust that we call planets. If any of us ceased to exist tomorrow, little would change beyond the subjective emotional states of the people in our immediate circles.

Six Shipwrecked Boys Live the Real "Lord of the Flies"

Lord of the Flies
For centuries western culture has been permeated by the idea that humans are selfish creatures. That cynical image of humanity has been proclaimed in films and novels, history books and scientific research.

But in the last 20 years, something extraordinary has happened. Scientists from all over the world have switched to a more hopeful view of mankind. This development is still so young that researchers in different fields often don't even know about each other.

Military Method for Falling Asleep in Two Minutes

An estimated 70 million American adults have a sleep disorder, the most common of which is insomnia1 — the inability to fall asleep, or waking up one or more times during the night. If you’re in this category, despair not, because the list of strategies to improve your sleep is long.

While most sleep problems are tied to lifestyle choices such as spending too much time indoors during daylight hours, and/or excessive use of technology and chronic exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs), which will require you to make (perhaps significant) changes to your lifestyle, a number of tips and tricks can be useful in the short term.

A method developed by the U.S. military, revealed in the 1981 book, Relax and Win: Championship Performance, claims to have a 96 percent success rate after six weeks of consistent implementation.

DMT Makes You Believe in God

The Spirit Molecule
A study has found that most people who regularly use the psychedelic drug DMT develop beliefs in a higher power such as God, according to a new study by Johns Hopkins University.

An online survey of more than 2,500 people undertaken by researchers from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine revealed that after taking DMT -- nicknamed the "the spirit molecule" for its ability to create deeply spiritual experiences -- 58 percent of respondents said tripping on DMT had triggered a belief in divine beings and powerful supernatural entities.

5 Disturbing Cults You Can Still Join Today

While one person’s cult is another’s religion, there are some over-zealous groups that use questionable beliefs and practices to bend the law and encourage users to stay against their better judgement.

Previously, we’ve posted about UFO cults, some of which are disturbing in their own right and we’ve all heard about Scientology ad nauseum but here are five of the more obscure cults you can still join today.

How to Thrive in the Matrix

You can have an amazing and abundant life free from enslavement to the Matrix once you realize how the Matrix got there in the first place as well as how your thoughts and feelings create your reality in every moment.

You are the Master of your own Manifestation and your choices have the power to free or enslave you – as you choose. At first glance life seems unfair and you may think that you are stuck in a system that is out to consume you. One one level, but this is not the only reality that you can experience.

The Ten Best Occult Books of the Decade

2012
I define the occult as the exploration of unseen dimensions whose forces act upon us and through us -- it is simply a study of extra-physicality and nonlocal intelligence. As a writer, reader, and publisher of occult literature, I offer up those titles that touched me as a seeker. Like every list, so much is missing -- but these works and writers left an indelible mark on my search over the past decade.

Everything Positive is Negative, Everything Negative is Positive

By Mark Manson, Excerpt fromThe Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck

There’s an insidious quirk to your brain that, if you let it, can drive you absolutely batty. Tell me if this sounds familiar to you:

You get anxious about confronting somebody in your life. That anxiety cripples you and you start wondering why you’re so anxious. Now you’re becoming anxious about being anxious. Oh no! Doubly anxious! Now you’re anxious about your anxiety, which is causing more anxiety. Quick, where’s the whiskey?

Or let’s say you have an anger problem. You get pissed off at the stupidest, most inane stuff, and you have no idea why. And the fact that you get pissed off so easily starts to piss you off even more. And then, in your petty rage, you realize that being angry all the time makes you a shallow and mean person, and you hate this; you hate it so much that you get angry at yourself. Now look at you: you’re angry at yourself getting angry about being angry. Fuck you, wall. Here, have a fist.

What Would You Do If You Were God?

I wonder, I wonder, what you would do if you had the power to dream at night, any dream you wanted to dream.

And you would of course be able to alter your time sense and slip, say, 75 years of subjective time into 8 hours sleep. You would, I suppose, start out by fulfilling all your wishes. You could design for yourself what would be the most ecstatic life. Love affairs, banquets, dancing girls, wonderful journeys, gardens, music beyond belief.

And then after a couple of months, of this sort of thing at 75 years a night, you'd be getting a little taste for something different.

Science Says: Universe May Be a Strange Loop of Self-Simulating Consciousness

When it comes to cosmology, astronomy, and physics, there is no shortage of off-the-wall arguments and hypotheses. While new discoveries from the early moments of the Big Bang and quantum and particle physics continue to amaze us and fill in the gaps of our mysterious universe, there remains a stunning number of questions we still can't answer.

The most fundamental of these questions revolve around "why anything" and "why consciousness."

Adventures in Erotic Hypnosis

By Rachel R. White/ Source: New York Observer

Emily, a 24-year-old burlesque dancer with creamy skin and dark curly hair was at a party in Manhattan a few summers back when she lost her vagina. It was a worrisome feeling. She ran around the crowded loft frantically looking under bags and coats yelling, "I've lost my vagina!"

"Where did you see it last?" asked one friend with a laugh. "Do you have insurance on it?" wondered another.

But Emily wasn't kidding. She could feel the tears welling up, at which point her date, a longtime friend, walked by and snapped his fingers. She dropped an armload of coats.

"Never mind, you guys," she said. "I found it!" Disaster averted.

Emily laughed as she retold the story on a chilly day in McCarren Park. But she could still revisit the sense of panic she'd felt, the result of an experiment with erotic hypnosis. Now, she's become a practitioner of hypnosis herself.

God Wants You To Be Rich

MindTrip Magazine
God wants you to be rich!

Isn’t this a strange way of starting an article? But it’s true. What so many people believe you have to suffer through poverty, to become a good person, it is false.

It’s something lost in translation. If you look at the bible, if you look at the Christian tombs and documents, if you look at the history of Christianity, then you’ll see that God never wanted poverty and suffering for its subjects.

No, the Almighty wanted all of us to live a life full of abundance and of gifts.
