Mind Tricks to Seduce Women (+free video!)

By Josh Pellicer / Source: The Tao of Badass

If you've ever seen a guy in a bar walk up to a girl he didn't know and make out with her almost immediately, it can be a completely mind-blowing experience. It may seem like it's magical or out of reach - a special ability or super-power that someone is born with.

But it's not. And it can be broken down into a few simple steps you can follow in order to make the same thing happen for you. In this article, I'm going to break down those steps.

The first step is to realize that about 90% of the difference between someone who's really good with women and someone who's not so good or mediocre with women, is the ability to spot a woman who's ready to make out.

I know it sounds kind of crazy at first, but it's true. If you walk into a bar and go up to any woman without knowing what signs to look for, your odds of success go WAY down.

Resolve to Escape

By Stuart Wilde, Author of Infinite Self

My ol' teacher said that before you are born you choose your parents and that you have an overview of the circumstances and beliefs that you are to be born into, he even said you have a comprehension of the defects or inabilities of the future body you will inhabit at birth, your DNA karma say.

It is a very original idea because your birth and the mindset you inherit from your parents overwhelmingly dictates the nature and circumstances of your life's initial journey. It is our first karma to be born into the restriction of a physical body that is sometimes frightened and it moves slowly, and the second karma is the family imprint that is emotionally embossed upon us. Our third karma develops as we grow up and we go out and test our embossed-self up against real life and other embossed, sometimes warped souls, and we learn through action and reaction.

Our forth karma is spiritual for humans know very little about where our consciousness comes from, or the dimensions that exist all around us, and we know little or nothing about God or the after-life, and nothing is ever written about our pre-life, where we were before we were born?

Religion attempts to address the subject of God and the after-life but it offers us nothing more than the arrogance of ignorance dressed in a platitude. It is not very accurate…mumbo-jumbo mostly.

7 Steps to Bring Riches into Your Life

We all want abundance in some form or another, whether it is wealth in the monetary sense to being richly blessed with meaningful relationships or even to achieve self-mastery — the wealth of spirit.

In this past decade, and, even prior to that, we have been introduced to the idea of the Law of Attraction with popular books such as The Secret and the Jerry and Esther Hicks series, just to name a few.

So Why Is It Still Hard To Manifest Our Desires?

We hear catch phrases like 'Be in the Flow' but what does that practically mean to you? How can you step into this flow and apply it to your situation or reality? Wishful thinking just isn't cutting it for some. Here are some fundamental reasons why it may not be working for you:

Do Super Computers from the Future Run Our Universe?

Scientists are conducting experiments to discover whether the universe exists within a Matrix-style computer simulation created by super computers of the future.

The experiments being conducted by University of Washington could prove that we are merely pawns in some kind of larger computer game. However, it is unclear who created these super computers that may hypothetically power our existence.

"Imagine the situation where we get a big enough computer to simulate our universe, and we start such a simulation on our computers," said professor Martin Savage, a physicists working on the project. "If that simulation runs long enough, and have same laws as our universe, then something like our universe will emerge within that simulations, and the situation will repeat itself within each simulation," he said.

Paralyzed Woman Controls Robot Arm With Her Mind

A woman who is paralysed from the neck down has stunned doctors with her extraordinary skill at using a robotic arm that is controlled by her thoughts alone.

The 52-year-old patient, called Jan, lost the use of her limbs more than 10 years ago to a degenerative disease that damaged her spinal cord. The disruption to her nervous system was the equivalent to having a broken neck.

But in training sessions at the University of Pittsburgh, doctors found she quickly learned to make fluid movements with the brain-controlled robotic arm, reaching levels of performance never seen before.

You Don't Want Money

By Dr. Robert Anthony
Creator of The Secret of Deliberate Creation

Are you discovering that just about everything you want out of life requires you to have sufficient wealth? If so, you might be realizing that wanting money isn't really so "greedy"  and "selfish" after all. You might be realizing that wealth and prosperity are pretty noble and admirable goals to set for yourself .

But this still doesn't change the fact that MOST people never make enough money to do the things they really want to do. Well, if you're not about to see yourself left behind, you'll  be itching to learn this secret of manifesting wealth and prosperity...

Think about it, none of us really want money. We want the things that money can buy, so we spend our lives in pursuit of money so that we can buy them...but why?

The Power of Now and Agelessness

Scientific studies have suggested that a mind that is present and in the moment indicates well-being, whereas shifting our energy to the past or future can lead to unhappiness. Now, a preliminary UCSF study shows a link between mind wandering and aging, by looking at a biological measure of longevity within our DNA.

In the study, telomere length, an emerging biomarker for cellular and general bodily aging, was assessed in association with the tendency to be present in the moment versus the tendency to mind wander, in research on 239 healthy, midlife women ranging in age from 50 to 65 years.

Being present in the moment was defined as an inclination to be focused on current tasks, while mind wandering was defined as the inclination to have thoughts about things other than the present or being elsewhere.

The Future of Meditation?

Source: Omharmonics

Do you meditate? Or are you at least curious about new scientific advancements into this ancient practice?

Yes? Well we have a gift for you to try from the team at Mindvalley - of the world’s biggest online personal growth publishers.

It’s a free meditation audio. But with a difference.

The audio uses a next-generation sound technology called Omharmonics, which Mindvalley has spent the past year developing with world-class consciousness engineers.

Designed to retune brain wave frequency to 7 - 14 cps (the optimum Alpha level), the result is a deep meditation within minutes - even in people who have no prior experience meditating.

The truth is, we all know our mind is a powerful instrument. But when it comes to meditation, people have been struggling for decades. Many of us can’t shake off mental chatter. We fall asleep. We get restless. We can’t find time to practice.

According to Mindvalley, Omharmonics makes all these problems obsolete.

Could this be the future of meditation?

Grab a pair of headphones, set aside a few minutes, and be the judge:

The Mathematics of Ommmmmm...

By Marc Abrahams / Source: The Guardian

Two Indian scientists are wielding sophisticated mathematics to dissect and analyse the traditional meditation chanting sound "Om". The Om team has published six monographs in academic journals. These plumb certain acoustic subtleties of Om, which these researchers say is "the divine sound".

Om has many variations. In a study published in the International Journal of Computer Science and Network Security, the researchers explain: "It may be very fast, several cycles per second. Or it may be slower, several seconds for each cycling of [the] Om mantra. Or it might become extremely slow, with the mmmmmm sound continuing in the mind for much longer periods but still pulsing at that slow rate. It is somewhat like one of these vibrations:

Marines Expand Meditation Training

While preparing for overseas deployment with the U.S. Marines late last year, Staff Sgt. Nathan Hampton participated in a series of training exercises held at Camp Pendleton, Calif., designed to make him a more effective serviceman.

There were weapons qualifications. Grueling physical workouts. High-stress squad counterinsurgency drills, held in an elaborate ersatz village designed to mirror the sights, sounds and smells of a remote mountain settlement in Afghanistan.

There also were weekly meditation classes — including one in which Sgt. Hampton and his squad mates were asked to sit motionless in a chair and focus on the point of contact between their feet and the floor.

The Power of Negative Thinking

The holiday season poses a psychological conundrum. Its defining sentiment, of course, is joy -- yet the strenuous effort to be joyous seems to make many of us miserable. It's hard to be happy in overcrowded airport lounges or while you're trying to stay civil for days on end with relatives who stretch your patience.

So to cope with the holidays, magazines and others are advising us to "think positive" -- the same advice, in other words, that Norman Vincent Peale, author of The Power of Positive Thinking, was dispensing six decades ago. (During holidays, Peale once suggested, you should make "a deliberate effort to speak hopefully about everything.") The result all too often mirrors the famously annoying parlor game about trying not to think of a white bear: The harder you try, the more you think about one.

Variations of Peale's positive philosophy run deep in American culture, not just in how we handle holidays and other social situations but in business, politics and beyond. Yet studies suggest that peppy affirmations designed to lift the user's mood through repetition and visualizing future success often achieve the opposite of their intended effect.

Scientists Watch the Movies in Your Mind

By Katie Moisse / Source: ABC News

California scientists have found a way to see through another person's eyes.

Researchers from UC Berkeley were able to reconstruct YouTube videos from viewers' brain activity -- a feat that might one day offer a glimpse into our dreams, memories and even fantasies.

"This is a major leap toward reconstructing internal imagery," said Jack Gallant, professor of psychology and coauthor of a study published today in Current Biology. "We are opening a window into the movies in our minds."

Gallant's coauthors acted as study subjects, watching YouTube videos inside a magnetic resonance imaging machine for several hours at a time. The team then used the brain imaging data to develop a computer model that matched features of the videos -- like colors, shapes and movements -- with patterns of brain activity.

Futurist's Top 15 Predictions for 2013

Jack Uldrich is a professional futurist, best-selling author and popular keynote speaker. Here are his top 15 predictions for intersting events that have a high probability of happening in the new year.

#1. First Heart A-Hack Victim

In January, an Arizona socialite will be charged with murder after it was uncovered she hired a former disgruntled employee of a leading medical device firm to hack into her cheating husband's pacemaker and deliver a lethal shock to his heart. Shares of the company's stock will plummet on the news and untold numbers of pacemaker-wearing philanders will be "shocked" into relearning that old adage: "Hell hath no furry like a woman scorned."

The Lottery of Life: Where to Be Born in 2013

Warren Buffett, probably the world's most successful investor, has said that anything good that happened to him could be traced back to the fact that he was born in the right country, the United States, at the right time (1930).

A quarter of a century ago, when The World in 1988 light-heartedly ranked 50 countries according to where would be the best place to be born in 1988, America indeed came top. But which country will be the best for a baby born in 2013?

To answer this, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a sister company of The Economist, has this time turned deadly serious. It earnestly attempts to measure which country will provide the best opportunities for a healthy, safe and prosperous life in the years ahead.

Top 10 Mind Bending Movies

By Daniel Hubschman / Source:

Movies are meant to entertain. You pay $12 for the opportunity to tune out the real world and escape your droll existence with 24 frames of colorful adventure per second. Though I occasionally enjoy turning my brain off while watching movies like Transformers or Predators for sheer thrills, these films aren’t the reason why I fell in love with cinema.

On the contrary, the most fun that I’ve ever had at the movies has been when I’ve been challenged by the material and required to question the characters, their motives and the narrative itself.

In honor of Christopher Nolan’s new brain-boggling epic Inception, here’s a list of our favorite mind-bending cinematic experiences.

Two Magic Words

By Jason Mangrum

Spiritual masters say that enlightenment can happen in an instant or like the blooming of a lotus flower. The same can be said of realizations, and learning.

As you read a book on any subject you will have moments that you stop reading just long enough to say “Ah ha!” or “Wow, that’s how that works” or “that’s why that happens!”

When you first look at a new math equation and it makes no sense, then later after you learn the process, you can look at the same equation again and you not only understand it you can solve it.

The point I am trying to make is this: There is a point where something is gained from any knowledge. First you are ignorant, and then you inquire, next you realize, now you have the power of that knowledge and can apply it to your world.

People will sell you courses and charge you thousands of dollars to beat around the bush and flush out the truth I am about to tell you.

I have used this method that consists of only 2 words to create anything I want usually within 24 hours if not instantly.

Stop Your Wandering Mind with Sex

Source: The Times of India

We often find ourselves drifting away while at work or studying but experts have said that it's bad for health – and now the best way to avoid daydreaming is to make love, it seems.

Mind-wandering turns out to be extremely common – users reported daydreaming almost 50 per cent of the time – mostly during brushing their teeth or doing other grooming, reports New Scientist.

During only one activity – making love – did the frequency of mind-wandering drop below 30 per cent.

Crucially, episodes of mind-wandering tended to precede bouts of low mood, but not vice versa, suggesting that the former caused the latter.

The MP3s That Cure Insomnia

Source: Sleep Salon

Insomnia. I'm not sure there's anything more frustrating.

The endless staring at the ceiling. That desperate waiting for slumber to finally kick in. The feeling of immense tiredness throughout the next day.

But such sleep problems may be a thing of the past thanks to a new scientific audio program.

The Sleep Salon is a new program designed to help eliminate sleeping problems by tapping into the power of the mind. It uses special sounds to help influence brainwave patterns, taking the brain from being wide awake and lulling it gently into a deep, relaxing sleep.

The program comes from the creators of the Brain Evolution System and the Brain Salon, and is based on over 100 years of brainwave research.

The science is pretty simple. Your brain emits a mild electrical frequency, which can be measured using an EEG machine. They call these 'brainwaves', and different brainwave frequencies mean that you're in different states of mind. So, as you're reading this, you're likely consciously alert and attentive, and so your brainwaves should be operating in the Beta (12-30 Hz) frequency. However when you're asleep, brainwaves dip down to the Delta (0.1-4 Hz) frequency. And yes, this is all common knowledge in the science world.

The Sleep Salon taps into this, by capitalizing on a physics phenomenon known as "entrainment." When you strike one tuning fork and hold another next to it, the second starts resonating at the same frequency. It's the same with the brain: when exposed to a certain frequency, the brain 'copies' that frequency. The sessions inside the Sleep Salon all contain special 'encoded' frequencies. When the brain 'hears' these frequencies, it copies them -- taking your brain down from the wide-awake Beta frequency down to deep-sleep Delta.

To put it even simpler: listen to these simple MP3 audio files -- and you'll fall asleep.

'Sleeping Beauty' snoozes for 64 days

A Pennsylvania teenager slept for 64 days from Thanksgiving into January -- her longest sleeping episode yet.

Nicole Delien, 17, struggles with a rare sleep disorder called Kleine-Levine, or 'Sleeping Beauty Syndrome'.

During her sleep spells she will wake up in a confused state for small periods of time to eat and go to the bathroom and then fall back to sleep.

Nicole's mother, Vicki, says her daughter will sleep 18 to 19 hours a day, and when she eventually wakes up to eat she is in a 'sleepwalking state which she doesn't remember', KDKA in Pittsburgh recently reported.

'Elixir of Life' Could Be Real

The 'elixir of life' said to have been invented by scientists in Kazakhstan could work, according to British experts.

The discovery of the elixir was announced at an international scientific conference held at Nazarbayev University earlier this month.

The scientists have taken two years to develop the yogurt based drink called "nar" which means nourishment in Kazakh.

It has been developed at Nazarbayev University in the capital, Astana where it is currently undergoing clinical tests.

The Kazakhstani leader, Nursultan Nazarbayev, gave orders to the university's scientists to come up with an 'elixir of life', soon after the institution was established in 2009.

Doomsday 'Safe Zone' Shut Down

Citing fears that doomsday believers, curiosity seekers, and above all journalists will flood a French mountaintop on Dec. 21, the supposed day of the Mayan apocalypse, local officials are banning access to the mountain.

The spot, Pic de Bugarach, is rumored to be one of the only safe places on the planet on Dec. 21, according to Raw Story. On that date, a major cycle of the Maya Long Count calendar ends. The calendar is split into several chunks, including 400-year spans called b'ak'tuns. Dec. 21, 2012 on our calendar marks the end of the 13th b'ak'tun and the beginning of a new cycle.

The calendar change would not have been seen as the end of the world by the ancient Maya, scholars agree. But in New Age and other online subcultures, believers have come to expect something major on that day, with predictions ranging from a new dawn of peace and harmony to an explosive doomsday.

One online rumor holds that on this day of destruction, Pic de Bugarach will open up to reveal an alien spacecraft, which will save believers nearby. That has local officials worried.

Kung Fu Nuns Teach Cosmic Energy to CERN Scientists

A dozen kung fu nuns from an Asian Buddhist order displayed their martial arts prowess to bemused scientists at CERN this week as their spiritual leader explained how their energy was like that of the cosmos.

The nuns, all from the Himalayan region, struck poses of hand-chops, high-kicks and punches on Thursday while touring the research centre where physicists at the frontiers of science are probing the origins of the universe.

"Men and women carry different energy," said His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa, a monk who ranks only slightly below the Dalai Lama in the global Buddhist hierarchy. "Both male and female energies are needed to better the world."

Sleep Your Way to Weight Loss and a Longer Life

By Margie King / Source: Natural News

According to an Irish proverb, a good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's book. As far as sleep goes, that may just be true according to three recent studies concluding that good sleeping habits may promote weight loss, lower the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease, and increase longevity.

In the first study, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, researchers found that although dieters lost the same amount of weight whether they had adequate sleep or not, those who got a full night's sleep lost 55% more body fat than those who cut back on sleep.

The Psychology of Magic

In the last half decade, magic—normally deemed entertainment fit only for children and tourists in Las Vegas—has become shockingly respectable in the scientific world. Even I—not exactly renowned as a public speaker—have been invited to address conferences on neuroscience and perception. I asked a scientist friend (whose identity I must protect) why the sudden interest. He replied that those who fund science research find magicians "sexier than lab rats."

I'm all for helping science. But after I share what I know, my neuroscientist friends thank me by showing me eye-tracking and MRI equipment, and promising that someday such machinery will help make me a better magician.

I have my doubts. Neuroscientists are novices at deception. Magicians have done controlled testing in human perception for thousands of years.

Futurist's New Book Predicts Powerful Digital Brain

Futurist Ray Kurzweil optimistically predicts much longer life expectancies, cures for cancer and heart disease, flying cars and robot butlers.

Thanks in large part to expected advances in brain research, humans will become capable of feats that now seem impossible, posits the inventor and author in his new book, How to Create a Mind: The Secret of Human Thought Revealed.

Key to his predictions, which he's also outlined in a series of other books including The Age of Spiritual Machines andThe Singularity Is Near, is the law of accelerating returns. Kurzweil suggests the pace of information technology advances will grow at an exponential pace until sometime near the end of the century.

The 3 Mighty Forces of Power

By Burt Goldman, The American Monk

Events can be manipulated to solve problems you are faced with. You can change things you're not satisfied with.

While there's no disputing the fact that you can't always get what you want, it's also true that you can exercise your innate power over the events of your life and make things go your way much more frequently.

To do so, you must understand and use the three mighty forces of power -- desire, belief, and expectation. Before anything you want to happen can occur, you must desire that it happen. You must believe that it can happen. And you must expect it to happen. Letís look at each of these three forces and then see how you can put them to work for you.

How to Fake Your Way to Happiness

How dependent are you on outside forces for your happiness?

Are you happier when you achieve what you've been longing for, or when you simply have to just make do with what you've got? For example, the amount of happiness your experience as a result of you finally getting that promotion, compared to not getting it?

In this TED Talk, Stumbling On Happiness author Dan Gilbert explains that scientifically, we can be just as happy by manufacturing our own happiness (synthetic happiness) as we can if we get what we want. The reason for this is because we have a psychological immune system that slides into gear during circumstances that may initially make us feel pretty miserable.

One of the most interesting pieces of trivia he reveals is one case where the happiness levels of paraplegics and lottery winners were compared. Astoundingly, one year after both of their remarkably different life-altering experiences, they exhibited the same level of happiness.

Change Your Name to Change Your Luck?

Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt once predicted that in the future people around the world will change their names to escape all the embarrassing things they did online in the past. In Thailand, people already are doing it—for good luck.

Baramee Thammabandan, 46 years old, had a run of misfortune a decade ago when he was still known as Teerapol Lilitjirawat. His business trading garments in Bangkok's mazelike markets slumped, his eyesight began to fail and he could no longer properly manage his affairs. Worse, he says his former wife left him.

So, Mr. Baramee did what many Thais do when faced with a patch of bad luck: He changed his name. "I wanted to become a new person," says the slim, clean-shaven Mr. Baramee, whose new name means "Charisma" and which he chose to bring him wealth and fame.

It seems to have worked.

110-year-old Man's Secret is a Magic Potion from India

He has lived to see 26 prime ministers, received seven telegrams from the Queen and was alive when the Wright brothers piloted the first powered plane in 1903.

But Britain's oldest man – who turns 110 tomorrow – says his longevity isn't entirely down to his strict vegetarian diet or his favourite tipple, gin.

The Reverend Reg Dean instead attributes it to a 'mysterious brown-looking' elixir of life given to him by a doctor when he was an army chaplain in India.

‘He said to me, "I have concocted a drink that will make you live for ever", or something like that, and would I like to take it?' he recalled yesterday.

Are Alien Abductions Merely Lucid Dreams?

Source: Digital Journal

Researchers at the Out-of-Body Experience Research Center (OOBE Research Center) at UCLA , say they have evidence that claims of close encounter with UFOs and extraterrestrials result from vivid or lucid dreams.

Lead researcher Michael Raduga, of the OOBE Research Center, in the study involving 20 volunteers which began on October 7, 2011, designed a method for coaching people how to have lucid dreams involving apparently real encounters with aliens. The subjects were coached on how to induce out-of-body encounters by mentally performing a series of exercises.

The researchers found it was not difficult to induce typical alien abduction reports after only a few days (3 days) of training the subjects. Using the exercises they had designed, the researchers found they could teach subjects how to have close encounters with aliens.

Lead researcher Michael Raduga, whose research design is based on the theory that reports of alien encounters come from very realistic dream experiences, reasons that successfully coaching people how to have realistic dream experiences of alien encounter provide strong evidence in support of the theory that alien encounters are mostly lucid dream experiences, that is, the product of people's imaginations.

How to 'Cast a Spell' with Mind Power

By Jason Mangrum,
Co-Author of
Uberman! Almost Super Human

Spell casting? No, this is not a lesson in witchcraft, new age or the occult.

And yet, it unlocks the mysteries to all of those and more.

Arthur C. Clarke once stated, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

And he's absolutely right. The ability to manipulate the air and manifest fire with the flick of a finger might be considered sorcery by anyone who has never seen a lighter.

And the same goes for working with energy, thought and intent to produce a change in reality.

Psychic Mutant Superpowers 1981 - 2008

“I never liked to get into debates with the skeptics, because if you didn’t believe that remote viewing was real, you hadn’t done your homework.” --Major General Edmund R Thompson

The year I was born, in 1981, the US Government decided magick was real. Well, the “US Government” is of course an abstraction—specifically, Congressional Research Service was commissioned to do a report on psychic phenomena and offered the following conclusion:

“Recent experiments in remote viewing and other studies in parapsychology suggest that there exists an ‘interconnectiveness’ of the human mind with other minds and with matter. This interconnectiveness would appear to be functional in nature and amplified by intent and emotion.”

That sounds like a pretty accurate description of magick to me. Score one for the weirdos, right?

Psychic Finally Wins Lottery

One of the country's best-known psychics has packed away her crystal ball – after scooping a lotto jackpot.

Beti Schulz, 71, landed more than £2million when her numbers came up on the National Lottery.

Now, the clairvoyant has decided to retire after spending almost 40 years predicting the future.

A pal said: "Beti had a lot of fans and they are very disappointed that she is calling it a day.

"But they are also delighted for her because she has been so good to them."
Pals say Beti banked around £730,000 after her three-person syndicate celebrated a £2.2million bonanza earlier this year.

How Your Body Predicts the Future

Do you ever feel like you just have a really good feeling about something happening? Well, according to a new study, you actually may be predicting the future.

Scientists wrote in the current edition of Frontiers in Perception Science that our bodies are able to anticipate the near future.

The team already knew that our subconscious minds know more than our conscious minds, and physiological measures of subconscious arousal show up before conscious awareness. However, there were still some unanswered questions.

How to Spot a Liar through Body Language

Source: LifeHacker

You've likely heard that body language accounts for up to 55% of how we communicate, but reading non-verbal cues isn't just about broad strokes. The same gesture can indicate a number of different things depending on context.

In this post, we're going to take a look at three common situations in which non-verbal cues are especially important—detecting lies, going on a date, and interviewing for a job—then explain how to interpret body language more accurately so that you can read between the lines when a person's words aren't necessarily conveying the way that they honestly feel.

We lie a lot. When having a conversation with a stranger, chances are we'll lie in the first ten minutes. Sometimes we'll lie more than once in that same period of time. These may not always be big lies, but we still do it. We all willingly partake in deception from time to time because it helps us avoid conflict, but often we're better off knowing the truth.

While words can be deceptive, the human body is a terrible liar. This is where reading body language and using your own effectively, can be extremely useful when communicating with others.

Happiness-Eating Bacteria

Friday morning I woke up with a dime-sized red mark on my lower arm. It appeared to be zit without a head. It wouldn't pop, so I eagerly awaited taking care of it after a hot shower.

A few hours later the zit looked like a large spider bite. When I squeezed it, a jolt of hot pain spread up my arm.

I watched this spider bite grow for a couple of hours. Once my arm started feeling hot, I went to the Emergency Room.

Anyone who has grappled or worked in medicine know why I went to the ER rather than waiting to see my doctor the following Monday. An aggressive form of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus – or flesh-eating bacteria – had begun colonizing my arm.

By Monday I would have run the risk of losing part of my arm. (Some aggressive antibiotics killed those encroaching bastards.)

You might be wondering what a story about a bacteria infection have to do with anything.

The Power to Lighten Up

By Henk Schram, Creator of Crack Your Egg

Today I want to let you in on one particular aspect of which we tend to highly underestimate the power and potential to radically turn things around in an your life in an instant.

It was some experiences a while back that I fully realized the extreme impact of this on my state of being… almost in an instant.

At the same time, if I tell you what it is right upfront, it'll probably sound extremely simplistic… which in turn would bring up the risk that you might not read this article, let alone take up the importance of what I'm trying to get across here.

So before I let you in on this well-kept 'secret', let me build up the tension just a bit…

Science Discovers the Healing Power Inside Your Mind

By Jane Symons / Source: The Express

Imagine how much better life would be if medicines were free, available around the clock and came with no unpleasant side effects. It may sound too good to be true but the reality is we can all tap into this 24-hour pharmacy because it’s literally all in our mind.

We sometimes talk of being “worried sick” but there is growing evidence that we can also harness the amazing power of the mind to think ourselves well.

A belly laugh can even help us cope with pain as researchers at Oxford University proved recently.
Professor Robin Dunbar, who led the study, believes uncontrollable laughter releases pain-killing chemicals called endorphins.

The Silva Method of Spiritual Evolution

Mind science research has suggested that the key to most of the things we want in life, whether it's abundance, career success, health, happiness or enlightenment, lies in a particular state of mind.

Scientists call this the Alpha and Theta brainwave frequencies. We attain these states of mind during deep sleep.

The question is… how do you achieve this state of mind during waking consciousness? And more importantly, how do you use it to overcome your limitations and challenges, triumph over your unwanted habits and negative thought patterns, and enrich certain aspects of your life?

Top 10 Sci-Fi Mind Control Movies

By Peter Martin / Source: SciFiSquad

We've seen the ads, we've seen a trailer, but we really have no idea what to expect from this week's release of Gamer. Except that it's directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the madmen of action cinema, and it's set in the near future, and it concerns an online game that involves mind control. Cool!

If we're lucky, maybe we can figure out what's happening before a migraine sets in from all the on-screen insanity sure to be unleashed from the people behind Crank and Crank High Voltage.

Focusing on the mind control angle for a moment led me to think about all the great sci-fi movies that have played around with the idea of remote control mental gymnastics. The adolescent brain immediately seizes on the possibilities inherent in stripping unsuspecting young ladies down to the buff (thanks a lot, Zapped!), yet the more mature thinker wonders about deeper issues, like what to do with a woman who will only go out with you because you gave her no choice.

Why Do Smart People Do More Drugs?

Evolutionary psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa has this theory, which he calls the Savanna-IQ Interaction Hypothesis.

Here's how it goes: intelligence evolved as a way to deal with "evolutionary novelties" -- to help humans respond to things in their environment to which they were, as a species, unaccustomed. Thus, smart people are more likely to deal with new things and try them. Those new things seem to include drugs.
