Remote Viewers See Aliens on the Moon

By Ray Villard / Source: Discovery News

Over the past 50 years, billions of dollars have been spent visiting our nearest neighbor in space, the moon. It's the only extraterrestrial body humans have ever walked on. Besides the United States and Russia, Japan, China, India and the European Space Agency have all sent robotic spacecraft moonward.

Probably the most prolific of these missions, NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), is stockpiling close to 1 million pictures of the lunar surface that are so sharp, you could see a coffee table nestled among the boulders.

Astrobiologist and physicist Paul Davies recently said that LRO's public-accessible photos should be perused by a citizen science program to look for any alien artifacts left on the moon.

But why bother? says a group of parapsychology sleuths who accuse NASA of hiding evidence of aliens on the lunar surface. Their wild tales sound like an amalgamation of Hollywood sci-fi movies: "Apollo 18," "Minority Report" and "Alien."

Top 10 Worst Self-Help Books

Source: E-Advisor Blog

There are some things you just shouldn't teach yourself from a book: open-heart surgery, how to kiss, ways to become less shy. Reading up on these skills wouldn't help you learn and would probably just be embarrassing or dangerous.

Self-help books make some readers feel like they can learn to do anything, from fixing their cars to changing their lives, and while there might be dozens of books that really provide useful information, many just aren't helpful. Check out what not to buy before you head to the bookstore to improve yourself.

How to Hypnotize a Cynic

By Sanjay Kumar / Source: The Hypnotic Laws

There are three kinds of people when it comes to hypnosis:

1. The Believer - they realize that hypnosis is powerful and willingly go into trance. There are some tell tale signs for a "Believer" personality and this is the kind of person a stage hypnotist would pick out of the audience.

2. The Realist - they're unsure about hypnosis but are willing to give it a try. These people usually listen to a hypnotic induction and go under but don't realize what happened to them. It's up to someone else to point out what happened. They also usually only get hypnotized by experts. Not just anyone can hypnotize them.

3. The Cynic - they're the ones who think this just isn't possible. It's a sham and phone baloney that only applies to people who are simpletons and naive about the way the world works.

Facebook Is Making You Miserable, Scientists Find

Two separate studies have emerged pointing to the conclusion that for all its popularity, Facebook is actually making people unhappy.

The first study, conducted by researchers from New Zealand's University of Canterbury, sought to determine how people felt about the various activities that they spent time on during the day. Researcher Carsten Grimm used a technique known as "experience sampling," sending text messages to people to ask what they were doing and how they ranked the activity in terms of pleasure, engagement, meaningfulness and happiness.

"I texted people three times a day over a week and the response rate was really high," Grimm said. "People replied to on average 97 percent of all text-messages, and texts were sent at random times, so there is a really rich sample of everyday life to look at."

Spending time on Facebook ranked among the 10 worst activities in terms of unpleasantness and lack of engagement. It was ranked as the least meaningful activity and the one that made people the second-most unhappy, surpassed only by recovering from illness.

Does Sunlight Cause Cancer or Cure It?

By Sayer Ji / Source: Activist Post

For the same reason that the conventional energy industry has not harnessed the full potential of solar energy (it's free!), sunlight and its indispensable byproduct in our skin, vitamin D, represents a serious threat to the medical establishment, whose questionable and aggressive promotion of vaccination and drug-based strategies in place of inexpensive, safe and effective vitamin D supplementation (or better, carefully meted out recreation and sunlight exposure) for immunity, has many questioning their motives.

Vitamin D, after all, has a vital preventive role to play in hundreds of conditions, due to the fact that 1 in every 10 genes in the human body depends on adequate quantities of this gene-regulatory hormone to function optimally. In other words, the very genetic/epigenetic infrastructure of our health would fall apart without adequate levels.

Even the risk for developing cancer, one of the most feared health conditions of our time -- and the one the medical establishment has had the least success preventing and treating -- is intimately connected to your vitamin D status.

Go With Your Gut: Study Says Intuition Works

Decision-making is an inevitable part of the human experience, and one of the most mysterious. For centuries, scientists have studied how we go about the difficult task of choosing A or B, left or right, North or South -- and how both instinct and intellect figure into the process. Now new research indicates that the old truism "look before you leap" may be less true than previously thought.

In a behavioral experiment, Prof. Marius Usher of Tel Aviv University's School of Psychological Sciences and his fellow researchers found that intuition was a surprisingly powerful and accurate tool. When forced to choose between two options based on instinct alone, the participants made the right call up to 90 percent of the time.

Instant Healing with New Energetics

By Jason Mangrum, Exclusive for MindTrip Magazine

In this day and age our culture has fallen hopelessly in love with things that provide us with instant gratification.

The need for speed and for getting things done immediately so we can reap the benefits at the soonest time possible has given us fast food restaurants, off-the-shelf packaged products and microwave dinners.

We can get instant purchasing power through credit cards, or have instant access to our stash of cash through ATMs. Even romance and relationships can be instantly realized with speed dating and online databases.

There is one area, though, that seems to lie beyond our ability to speed things up.

Despite advances in medicine and healthcare, healing the human body remains a painstaking and deliberate process that often relies on the optimum configuration of many external factors in order for it to succeed. We rely on the skill of healthcare professionals to administer tests using complex equipment and procedures.

Discovery Channel Proves You Can Be Brainwashed to Kill

A recent Discovery Channel documentary proved that individuals can be mind controlled into carrying out murder, proving the so-called "conspiracy theory" that it is possible to create brainwashed assassins.

The documentary, part of the Discovery Channel's Curiosity series, is particularly relevantgiven the recent claim by an alleged inmate of 'Batman' shooter James Holmes who contends that Holmes told him he was "programmed" to carry out the Aurora theater massacre by an "evil" psychotherapist.

Entitled Brainwashed, the experiment was overseen by Harvard University's Dr. Cynthia Meyersburg and Oxford University's Dr. Mark Stokes. Certified hypnotherapist Tom Silver was called upon to hypnotize dozens of subjects to test the depth of their hypnotic state and how suggestible they were.

Deepak Chopra's Secrets to a Better Brain

There are many books on the market that focus on treating the brain like any other organ of the body. To improve the brain, they advise eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep and avoiding toxins like alcohol and nicotine.

These are sound bits of advice, but in my own book, Super Brain, written with professor Rudolph Tanzi of Harvard Medical School, the emphasis is on the brain's uniqueness. The secret to improving your brain is to understand that uniqueness.

The brain is the only organ that changes instantly according to how the mind relates to it. You can relate to your brain in positive or negative ways, and depending on which one you choose, your brain cells, neural pathways and areas of high and low activity will be altered.

ESP and Parapsychology in Everyday Life

By James Carpenter, Ph.D., Author of
First Sight: ESP and Parapsychology in Everday Life

There is a new theory about your mind -- about where your decisions and experiences come from before you are aware of them. This theory has solid science behind it, and it suggests that there is a lot more going on in your mind than you realize.

Parts of this theory are familiar. Research has told us that brain events stand behind every thought we think and lead to them. And we have learned that many implicit psychological processes precede our experiences too, processes like subliminal sensations, stored memories and long-term values. These things aren't conscious in themselves, but the unconscious mind uses them to help lead to whatever we do become conscious of.

All Your Thoughts Are Self-Fulfilling Prophecies

From Shakespeare to The Secret, the idea that our thoughts and perceptions shape our reality is recognized as a powerful truth. As the Bard wrote, "[T]here is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so."

While charlatans have long used this belief to promote bogus cancer cures and get-rich-quick schemes, psychologists are now actually beginning to understand how "faking it 'til you make it" — or alternatively, psyching yourself out with negative thinking — works in the social world.

Two fascinating recent studies — one on confidence; the other exploring social fears — reveal how our own positive and negative stances work to alter our relationships and careers.

The Awesome Force of Your Will Projected

By Stuart Wilde,
Excerpt from
The Trick to Money is Having Some

What I learned from the European occultists is that the greatest power available to us humans is our will when projected correctly.

The difference between will and intention is that, for many people intention is just a mental act - a kind of wishful thinking - whereas the force of will projected from your consciousness contains not only your thoughts and desires but also the enthusiasm of your own Life Force.

Your will, projected correctly, will contain that vital ingredient, your spirit - the very essence of what you are.

The force of that spirit, clearly defined, will deliver to you the focus of your will, by virtue of the fact that the clarity of its concentration is honed to such an uncluttered purity that it cuts right through reality and fires the full weight of its power upon any target.

Did the CIA Teleport President Obama to Mars?

Forget Kenya. Never mind the secret madrassas. The sinister, shocking truth about Barack Obama's past lies not in east Africa, but in outer space. As a young man in the early 1980s, Obama was part of a secret CIA project to explore Mars. The future president teleported there, along with the future head of Darpa.

That's the assertion, at least, of a pair of self-proclaimed time-traveling, universe-exploring government agents. Andrew D. Basiago and William Stillings insist that they once served as "chrononauts" at Darpa's behest, traversing the boundaries of time and space. They swear: A youthful Barack Obama was one of them.

Perhaps this all sounds fantastical, absurd, and more than a little nuts. We couldn't agree more. That's one of the reasons we love conspiracy theories — the more awesomely insane, the better.
