10 Ways to Raise Your Energy and Help Change the World

By Iain Legg
Creator of the Super Mind Evolution System

1. DON’T give away your power to people. Take responsibility for your life. If things aren’t going as hoped in your life, re examine your deepest beliefs. Swap limiting beliefs for empowering ones.

2. DO get a pet! According to Power vs Force, a purring cat vibrates at 500 …my pet dog Cass must vibrate at least 800 with her loving licks and devotion! (She is nicknamed ‘Licky’ by my friends!)

3. DON’T watch movies that drag you down. According to Power vs Force, this is most films. Watch movies that will make you feel good. Listen to music that fills you with positive emotions. Read books that empower you. (Control the input to your brain, and you’ll control your output).

4. DO focus on what you want in your life, not what you don’t want – remember the law of attraction… You have the power to create the life of your dreams – even if the world around you seems messed up, don’t lose focus…

5. DO imagine that what you dream of is in your life now, and feel grateful for it now …and after that think of 10 more things to be grateful for.

6. DO have fun. Life is about being happy. Don’t wait until you have this, or that… Don’t put off happiness. Live now. Enjoy now.

7. DO seek to discover the truth about the meaning of your life. The answers are there if you look for them. Awareness and peace of mind are high vibrations.

8. DO use tools and strategies to help you achieve higher levels of consciousness, such as meditation and the free Alpha audio you can access at the end of this article

9. DON’T watch the news on television. It is filled with negativity which lowers your vibrations. (Why is 95% of all news all the time focused on bad news…). If you want to keep abreast of current affairs search the internet for independent, unbiased news. Seek the truth. Trust your intuition. This will also help you give you a much more balanced view of reality. There’s lots of good news out there if you’re looking for it…

10. DO help other people. Join activist sites like www.Avaaz.org that collect petitions to help humanity. Forgiveness, compassion and understanding are good vibrations. Maybe even learn to spread love and heal people from a distance with the power of your mind…

Video Gamers Can Control Dreams

By Jeremy Hsu, LiveScience Senior Writer

Playing video games before bedtime may give people an unusual level of awareness and control in their dreams, LiveScience has learned.

That ability to shape the alternate reality of dream worlds might not match mind-bending Hollywood films such as "The Matrix," but it could provide an edge when fighting nightmares or even mental trauma.

Dreams and video games both represent alternate realities, according to Jayne Gackenbach, a psychologist at Grant MacEwan University in Canada. But she pointed out that dreams arise biologically from the human mind, while video games are technologically driven by computers and gaming consoles.

"If you're spending hours a day in a virtual reality, if nothing else it's practice," said Jayne Gackenbach, a psychologist at Grant MacEwan University in Canada. "Gamers are used to controlling their game environments, so that can translate into dreams."

The Benefits of Yoga for Cancer Patients

By Anne Harding / Source: CNN

Cancer survivors often feel fatigued and have trouble sleeping for months -- or even years -- after their last chemotherapy or radiation session. Now, a new study shows that yoga can help them sleep better, feel more energized, and cut back on sleeping medications.

"We really wanted to find something useful, because right now there are not a lot of good treatments out there for fatigue," says the lead author of the study, Karen Mustian, an assistant professor of radiation oncology at the University of Rochester Medical Center, in Rochester, New York.

Compared with sleep medication, yoga "can be really empowering," says Suzanne Danhauer, a professor of psychosocial oncology at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Sleep medications aren't always effective and can have side effects, and people who've just been through cancer treatment may not want to take any more drugs, adds Danhauer, who studies the benefits of yoga for cancer patients but didn't participate in the new study.

The Coming Superbrain

By John Markoff / New York Times

It’s summertime and the Terminator is back. A sci-fi movie thrill ride, “Terminator Salvation” comes complete with a malevolent artificial intelligence dubbed Skynet, a military R.&D. project that gained self-awareness and concluded that humans were an irritant — perhaps a bit like athlete’s foot — to be dispatched forthwith.

The notion that a self-aware computing system would emerge spontaneously from the interconnections of billions of computers and computer networks goes back in science fiction at least as far as Arthur C. Clarke’s “Dial F for Frankenstein.”

A prescient short story that appeared in 1961, it foretold an ever-more-interconnected telephone network that spontaneously acts like a newborn baby and leads to global chaos as it takes over financial, transportation and military systems.

Are Tobacco Companies Still Using Subliminal Advertising?

Source: Real Subliminals

Recently formula one team team Ferrari has fallen under the spotlight for a possible subliminal advertising campaign with Marlboro.

There is a new “logo” of a barcode which seems to echo imagery used on a packet of Marlboro cigarettes. This barcode appears on the car itself (one of which is actually titled formally “The Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro”) and also on the overalls over the drivers of this team right next to the Ferrari logo.

Now subliminal advertising is banned within TV media and advertising so this is bad enough, but to make it worse Marlboro are obviously a tobacco company, and tobacco advertising has been banned since 1999 within formula 1.

However despite this Marlboro still have financial investment in the Ferrari team until 2011 (apparently worth approx $1billion over a ten year period), and it is not entirely clear what they are getting in return.. until this new “barcode” appeared recently.

Should Marines be trained to meditate?

Source: Futurity.org

Just as physical conditioning, weapons training, and fighting skills prepare soldiers for the rigors of combat, meditation practice may give them the mental capacity to withstand the trauma of war.

Amishi Jha, assistant professor of psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, is investigating how brain functions can be improved with exercises like stress reduction, mindfulness training, and long-term meditation practices.

Mindfulness training is the technique of deliberately bringing full attention to present experience and holding it there moment to moment, without judgment or emotional engagement, and returning to the present each time the mind wanders.

The clinical value of meditation practice for treating physical and psychological disorders is widely recognized, Jha says. There are more than 250 U.S. medical centers offering mindfulness-based stress-reduction programs.

Super Powers of the Human Mind

By Rebecca Sato
Source: Daily Galaxy

A Daily Galaxy post last year, The Importance of Being Forgetful, featured the built-in neural process of forgetting, which discussed why the average human brain is equipped with the ability to filter through seemingly irrelevant details.

While the average person may not have vast memory resources, it appears to be an evolutionary trade-off that allows the majority of us to focus on the most relevant facts.

However, some of the most incredible minds on Earth lack this ability to filter irrelevant facts, or perhaps it is more accurate to say that to a savant, the irrelevant IS relevant, and incredibly so. Somehow their brains are able to store and access incredible loads of information, even perceiving and relating to this information in an entirely different way.

Magnetic Brain Stimulation Fights Depression

By Anne Harding / Source: Reuters Health

A daily dose of electricity delivered to a specific part of the brain can lift depression, new research confirms, even for people who've already tried multiple antidepressants to no avail.

While there's evidence that this technique, known as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), helps depressed people get better-and the US Food and Drug Administration has approved TMS for this purpose-many skeptics have questioned whether it really works, notes Dr. Mark S. George of the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, the lead author of the new study.

The biggest issue with studies so far, he explained, has been that it's tough to fake the sound and sensation of the real device in order to run a gold standard clinical trial in which some people get the treatment, and others get a sham treatment, no one knowing which.

But George and his team say they've solved that problem by developing a dummy device that clicks in a similar way to the real thing and causes a person's eye muscles to twitch, just like real a TMS device.

Change Your Time Zone, Change Your Mind

By Ellen Pearlman / Source: Reality Sandwich

In three hours I will be rich.

In five hours I can only eat out once a month.

In thirteen hours I can buy myself an apartment with cash up front.

But right now, this very moment, I'm nearly facing foreclosure on my home.

Over the next twenty-four hours nothing significant will have changed in my life. The only difference will be that I've arrived in a different country, a new time zone.

Global travel has revealed the relativity of worth, value and wealth. I know I speak from a privileged position, as someone who has reaped many of globalization's benefits. Most people can't just hop on an airplane and zip off to a far away destination. Certainly, the world faces serious problems: poverty, dislocation and starvation. But, when I have a chance to reflect upon it, my own experience as a frequent traveler says something remarkable about the 21st century economy.

4 Manifestation Tips to Attract Abundance

By Valerie Dawson, Creator of Think Rich Secrets

Manifesting your goals and dreams can seem confusing, but it becomes much easier when you adopt the right mindset. Below are four quick tips to boost your success with manifestation:

Let it Be Easy

It is easy to get caught up in the perception that improving our lives is a daunting task until we remember that there is a very clear progression of smaller changes that inevitably lead us in the direction we want to go.

However, just the simple act of choosing better thoughts can trigger a landslide of positive change. Applying this concept to our financial condition is no different. Think thoughts of abundance and ease rather than struggle and lack; believe abundance is already ours; expect more abundance to keep showing up; feel more abundant as a result; take action to bring more abundance into our lives - and abundance is magnetically drawn to us.

Positive Expectation Improves Vision

By Bruce Bower / Source: Science News

Imagine seeing better by thinking differently. That’s a vision with a future, according to Harvard University psychologist Ellen Langer.

Eyesight markedly improved when people were experimentally induced to believe that they could see especially well, Langer and her colleagues report in the April Psychological Science. Such expectations actually enhanced visual clarity, rather than simply making volunteers more alert or motivated to focus on objects, they assert.

Langer’s new findings build on long-standing evidence that visual perception depends not just on relaying information from the eyes to the brain but on experience-based assumptions about what can be seen in particular situations. Those expectations lead people to devote limited attention to familiar scenes and, as a result, to ignore unusual objects and events.

Mind Reading Robots by 2020

Source: H+ Magazine

On April 22nd 2010, the U.S. press was fussing over the Tea Party, illegal aliens (not the outer space kind), and Earth Day. But in Japan, a short cryptic statement in the Nikkei, Japan’s largest business newspaper, made a startling announcement about a somewhat different vision of the future — a goal to make available commercial mind-reading devices and personal assistant bots within the next 10 years.

It’s not surprising that the Japanese government and private sector would collaborate on a new initiative to develop bots with AI capable of detecting when you’re hungry, cold, or in need of assistance, and electronics that can be controlled by thought alone.

BMI (Brain-Machine Interface) technology typically involves an EEG sensor connected to a computer that can be controlled purely by thought (or, more accurately, brainwaves). Research and early prototypes include full helmets, headbands, and direct brain implants to capture and interpret brainwaves.

While the U.S. Army actively pursues “thought helmets” that might someday lead to secure mind-to-mind communication between soldiers, the Japanese are going after the consumer market.

Stephen Hawking: How to Build a Time Machine

By Stephen Hawking / Source: Daily Mail

Hello. My name is Stephen Hawking. Physicist, cosmologist and something of a dreamer. Although I cannot move and I have to speak through a computer, in my mind I am free. Free to explore the universe and ask the big questions, such as: is time travel possible? Can we open a portal to the past or find a shortcut to the future? Can we ultimately use the laws of nature to become masters of time itself?

Time travel was once considered scientific heresy. I used to avoid talking about it for fear of being labelled a crank. But these days I'm not so cautious. In fact, I'm more like the people who built Stonehenge. I'm obsessed by time. If I had a time machine I'd visit Marilyn Monroe in her prime or drop in on Galileo as he turned his telescope to the heavens. Perhaps I'd even travel to the end of the universe to find out how our whole cosmic story ends.

To see how this might be possible, we need to look at time as physicists do - at the fourth dimension. It's not as hard as it sounds. Every attentive schoolchild knows that all physical objects, even me in my chair, exist in three dimensions. Everything has a width and a height and a length.

But there is another kind of length, a length in time. While a human may survive for 80 years, the stones at Stonehenge, for instance, have stood around for thousands of years. And the solar system will last for billions of years. Everything has a length in time as well as space. Travelling in time means travelling through this fourth dimension.

Does Every Black Hole Contain Another Universe?

By Ker Than / Source: National Geographic News

Like part of a cosmic Russian doll, our universe may be nested inside a black hole that is itself part of a larger universe.

In turn, all the black holes found so far in our universe—from the microscopic to the supermassive—may be doorways into alternate realities.

According to a mind-bending new theory, a black hole is actually a tunnel between universes—a type of wormhole. The matter the black hole attracts doesn't collapse into a single point, as has been predicted, but rather gushes out a "white hole" at the other end of the black one, the theory goes.

In a recent paper published in the journal Physics Letters B, Indiana University physicist Nikodem Poplawski presents new mathematical models of the spiraling motion of matter falling into a black hole. His equations suggest such wormholes are viable alternatives to the "space-time singularities" that Albert Einstein predicted to be at the centers of black holes.

According to Einstein's equations for general relativity, singularities are created whenever matter in a given region gets too dense, as would happen at the ultradense heart of a black hole.

How to Sell Anything to Anyone

By Nathan Blaszak
Director of the
Apply Hypnosis Centre

It’s mind-boggling to me when I talk to most copywriters, marketers and
entrepreneurs and they desperately search for the best approach to communicate or market a written message – when the most obvious tools are staring them right in the face.

What’s even more baffling to me is that many of them have to search for
the “best way” to motivate prospects to buy their product and services – instead of first understanding what unconsciously motivates them to act.

If you haven’t guessed what the most obvious tools are that’s staring
you right in the face, its unconscious psychological devices – more particularly, the thinking habits of every brain on the face of the planet earth.

Unconscious psychological devices are “motivations” of the mind that
are embedded deep within a person’s brain, and require a simple “push button” trigger to activate an automatic response action from their brain in the form of placing an order, a request for more information (generating leads), and/or a phone call or visit to the store or other place of business.

The concept of mind control has always been irresistible to
copywriters, salespeople, marketers and entrepreneurs. Why? Obviously, it gives the person who knows these psychological devices the privileged benefits to “push button” automatic fortunes.

If you’re a writer, in business or in the marketing arena who’s
interested in specializing in this million dollar knowledge, you’re in luck because I’m going to share 7 of them with you right now.

Lucky Charms Work, Claim Psychologists

By Daniel Bates / Source: The Daily Mail

They are taken to exams, job interviews and weddings in the hope they will bring good fortune.

But rather than being mere superstition, lucky charms do actually work, psychologists claim.
Researchers told half the golfers on a putting green that they were playing with a lucky ball, and the rest that they were playing with a normal one.

The research found that golfers given a 'lucky ball' managed to sink 35 per cent more putts than those who were playing with an ordinary ball
.

Those with the lucky ball sank 6.4 putts out of 10, nearly two more putts on average than the others - an increase of of 35 per cent.

The results have sparked huge interest among behavioural psychologists who say they put luck in a different light.
