You Are Already Enlightened

EverythingInInfinite.org
I realize I am making a lot of statements in this book that are obviously not true. After all, how can I say that every human being on Earth is already enlightened when there are so many evil, horrible, and obviously unenlightened people all around us?
Not only that, but every spiritual path ever devised claims that enlightenment is a long arduous journey of self-discovery.
Well, that’s one way of doing it. Or you could simply ease into the reality that you are already a spiritual being living in a spiritual universe and realize that everything is already “perfect” just the way it is, with a simple change of perspective.

The Union of the Body, Mind and Spirit

Source: Zenward

You know what never really made sense to me?

The traditional approach to health that looks at "body," "mind," and "spirit" and separate things.

To neglect the inter-dependence of these spheres is to me, a huge mistake, and shows a weak understanding of the holistic nature of human experience.

Your mental state deeply affects your physical health...

How else could stress be such a huge cause of disease?

Just like how holding physical tension in your body, causes you to feel that tension in your mind... affecting the way you think and act.

If being healthy is important to you, I'd advise adopting a holistic approach that accepts the simple truth... that you are the union of body, mind, and spirit.

And if there's one practice that encompasses that truth, it's Yoga.

So today, I'd like to personally invite you to join me, and over 5,000 members in Mindvalley's latest venture, Zenward - The School of True Yoga.

Mindvalley is one of the world's leading personal growth companies, and is renowned for doing things differently.

Their Yoga school, Zenward is no exception.

Because at Zenward you will learn Yoga in its true form...

Not your typical glossy California yoga, but an approach to health and wellness that works on the physical, the mental, and the spiritual aspects that all combine to determine your overall health.

Zenward members support each other, share experiences, and get incredible results in how they look and feel.

I'd love for you to become a member at Zenward, because I know just how big a difference it will make to your life.

Hope to see you in the members' area :-)

Maybe Mindfulness Isn't a Miracle Cure

MindfulnessMindfulness is having a moment. The practice, which involves consciously focusing on and recognizing your thoughts and emotions, has been found to reduce stress, improve grades, increase compassion, aid weight loss, and bolster resilience. Above all, mindfulness is considered a strong option for treating depression.

But a paper published this month in PLoS ONE should dampen some of the exuberance over mindfulness’ seemingly miraculous effects.

Can We End the Meditation Madness?

I AM being stalked by meditation evangelists.

They approach with the fervor of a football fan attacking a keg at a tailgate party. “Which method of meditation do you use?”

I admit that I don’t meditate, and they are incredulous. It’s as if I’ve just announced that the Earth is flat. “How could you not meditate?!”

I have nothing against it. I just happen to find it dreadfully boring.

“But Steve Jobs meditated!”

Yeah, and he also did L.S.D. — do you want me to try that, too?

The Enlightenment of Charles Manson

I was listening to the clip Matt Staggs posted on here the other day of Alan Watts expounding on the Buddhist concept of "No Self" so I clicked on it in YouTube to see what else came up, and there I found this little clip of Charles Manson answering the question of "Who are you?"

After listening to Watts, Manson's answer struck me as profound. "I am nobody", was his answer, basically. It struck me that Manson is a Zen Master.

How Meditation Relieves Pain and Depression

Meditation isn't only a way to relax or a throw-back to the 1960s when the Beatles first made the practice popular in the U.S.

In fact, in recent years, mainstream scientists have published several studies showing that mindfulness meditation, which is centered on being aware of the present moment by focusing on the body and breath sensations, can prevent and treat depression. Meditation has also been found to help chronic pain.

But what's going on in the body to produce these benefits? According to Brown University scientists, the answer appears to lie in how meditation changes the brain's rhythms.

The Future of Meditation?

Source: Omharmonics

Do you meditate? Or are you at least curious about new scientific advancements into this ancient practice?

Yes? Well we have a gift for you to try from the team at Mindvalley - of the world’s biggest online personal growth publishers.

It’s a free meditation audio. But with a difference.

The audio uses a next-generation sound technology called Omharmonics, which Mindvalley has spent the past year developing with world-class consciousness engineers.

Designed to retune brain wave frequency to 7 - 14 cps (the optimum Alpha level), the result is a deep meditation within minutes - even in people who have no prior experience meditating.

The truth is, we all know our mind is a powerful instrument. But when it comes to meditation, people have been struggling for decades. Many of us can’t shake off mental chatter. We fall asleep. We get restless. We can’t find time to practice.

According to Mindvalley, Omharmonics makes all these problems obsolete.

Could this be the future of meditation?

Grab a pair of headphones, set aside a few minutes, and be the judge:

Simple Enlightenment

Here's a story:

A wise master and his student. The student lives far away and writes monthly updates on his progress towards enlightenment.

The first letter: "I see visions of heaven. I'm lifted by angels, I feel light like I can fly. I can see the whole world."
The master grumbles and rips up the letter.

The next letter a month later. "I've seen all the universes. I've created worlds. I've seen the inside of myself."

The master grumbles and rips the letter into even tinier shreds.

The next letter from the student: "I've sat in meditation for one month straight without eating. My mind is an empty sea. I can see everyone's aura. I see the whole past and the whole future in this single instant."

The master says to nobody in particular, "this is shit." And puts the letter in his paper shredder. The master gets lots of letters from students.

Six months go by and no letter from the student. Finally the master, curious about an update, writes the student and asks what's going on.

The student writes back a letter: "Who cares!?"

Finally, the master smiles.

That's enlightenment.
