Is the Pineal Gland Your Esoteric Third Eye?

The pineal gland (also called the pineal body, epiphysis cerebri, epiphysis or the "third eye") is a small endocrine gland in the vertebrate brain. It produces the serotonin derivative melatonin, a hormone that affects the modulation of wake/sleep patterns and seasonal functions.

Its shape resembles a tiny pine cone (hence its name), and it is located near the center of the brain, between the two hemispheres, tucked in a groove where the two rounded thalamic bodies join.

Every human being's Pineal Gland or third eye can be activated to spiritual world frequencies and enables you to have the sense of all knowing, godlike euphoria and oneness all around you.

A pineal gland once tuned into to proper frequencies with help of meditation, yoga or various esoteric, occult methods, enables a person to travel into other dimensions, popularly known as astral travel or astral projection or remote viewing.

P.T. Barnum - The Art of Money Getting

By Mark Frauenfelder / Source: Credit.com

P.T. Barnum, the great circus showman of the 19th century, is probably best remembered for saying, "There's a sucker born every minute."

That's a shame, because he never said it; his competitor did. And as a result of this misattribution, many people think Barnum was nothing but a brash huckster who wasn't worth learning from.

I counted myself among those who thought Barnum was a con artist, but fortunately my curiosity got the better of me when I saw that Amazon was offering a free Kindle version of his book, The Art of Money-Getting, and I downloaded it. (If you don't have a Kindle or tablet you can read it here.)

What the Race to the South Pole Can Teach You About Achieving Goals

By Brett & Kate McKay/ Source: The Art of Manliness

In 1910, two explorers began their quests to become the first men to ever set foot upon the southernmost point on earth.

It was the "Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration," and the South Pole represented one of the last unexplored areas on earth.

Robert Falcon Scott hoped to claim the bottom of the world for England; Roald Amundsen wished to plant the Norwegian flag there on behalf of his countrymen.

Despite their common goal, the two adventurers' approaches to their expeditions were quite different—as were the end results.

Amundsen reached the South Pole first and returned home on a trip that was relatively smooth and straightforward. Scott arrived at 90 Degrees South only to experience the crushing disappointment of seeing one of Amundsen's flags flapping in the wind. He would never make it back; he and his four companions died of starvation, exhaustion, and exposure as they attempted to make the 700 mile return trip to their base camp.

Evidence Of The Afterlife: The Science of Near-Death Experiences

Beyond the "Next World" we are all seeking to manifest together through our works, there is also a "next world," that our society never talks about -- the world we come to after we "die."

In his long awaited book Evidence Of The Afterlife: The Science of Near-Death Experiences, oncologist Dr. Jeffrey Long [HarperOne, April, 2010) scanned 1300 cases of so-called NDEs (near death experiences) and based a book on 600 of those, using scientific method to screen out deception and dishonesty.

Dr. Long became convinced that NDEs prove that we do not die, that there is an afterlife for the soul after the body "dies."

This book, which includes accounts from non-English speaking NDEs, is the most comprehensive and scientific collection of evidence of life after death ever compiled.

How to Build a Six-Figure Business With Less Than $100

The $100 Startup
By Chris Guillibeau / Author of The $100 Startup

Over the past several years, I've been on a quest to study micro-businesses -- small operations (typically one person) that make $50,000 a year or more (often a lot more). The quest took me all over the world, at first to a large group of 1,500 "unexpected entrepreneurs" who volunteered to share their stories in detail.

I wanted to hear from all kinds of businesses -- both offline and online -- to decipher what made them so successful. How did they get started? What helped them grow into significant, reliable sources of income? How can you increase odds of success?

After much effort, a small team and I narrowed down the case studies to a subset of 70 that I focused on for final analysis. All 70 people had created freedom for themselves: new income and a completely new way of life. There are formulas.

Here is a highly-condensed list of 17 lessons learned…

Meditation Boosts Brain Power

Meditation is a century's old practice of relaxing the mind, improving thought power and exercising both the body and soul.

Meditation comes down through so many religious beliefs as well such as Buddhism and Hinduism. It can also be termed as a global practice because it is common within all religion, countries and cultures.

What exactly is meditation anyway?

According to Rob Nairn (the author of the book What is Meditation?) : "It [Meditation] is a highly alert and skillful state of mind because it requires one to remain psychologically present, and with whatever happens in and around one, without adding to or subtracting from it in any way."

So many scientific experiments have been carried out for years to find out the influence meditation has on the human brain.

Psychedelic Drugs Help Patients Face Death

By Lauren Slater / Source: NY Times

Pam Sakuda was 55 when she found out she was dying. Shortly after having a tumor removed from her colon, she heard the doctor's dreaded words: Stage 4; metastatic.

Sakuda was given 6 to 14 months to live. Determined to slow her disease's insidious course, she ran several miles every day, even during her grueling treatment regimens.

By nature upbeat, articulate and dignified, Sakuda — who died in November 2006, outlasting everyone's expectations by living for four years — was alarmed when anxiety and depression came to claim her after she passed the 14-month mark, her days darkening as she grew closer to her biological demise.

Norbert Litzinger, Sakuda's husband, explained it this way: "When you pass your own death sentence by, you start to wonder: When? When? It got to the point where we couldn't make even the most mundane plans, because we didn't know if Pam would still be alive at that time — a concert, dinner with friends; would she still be here for that?" When came to claim the couple's life completely, their anxiety building as they waited for the final day.

As her fears intensified, Sakuda learned of a study being conducted by Charles Grob, a psychiatrist and researcher at Harbor-U.C.L.A. Medical Center who was administering psilocybin — an active component of magic mushrooms — to end-stage cancer patients to see if it could reduce their fear of death.

Astrologers Predict Obama As Next President

The votes are in and it is unanimous: Barack Obama will win re-election to the U.S. presidency in November, according to five astrologers who offered predictions at their convention on Tuesday.

Each of the five astrologers on the presidential panel explained how they came to their assessments, with most relying on studies of celestial charts pertinent to both Obama and presumed Republican nominee Mitt Romney for the date of either the election itself or the next presidential inauguration.

For Chicago astrologist and corporate lawyer Nina Gryphon, it was her study of the Aries ingress - the exact time when the Sun enters the sign of Aries - that clinched the decision. "It's obvious," she said. "Obama stays where he is without a change in status."
