How to Use Mind Control to Sell Anything to Anyone

By Nathan Blaszak, Director
Apply Hypnosis Centre

It’s mind-boggling to me when I talk to most copywriters, marketers and entrepreneurs and they desperately search for the best approach to communicate or market a written message – when the most obvious tools are staring them right in the face.

What’s even more baffling to me is that many of them have to search for the “best way” to motivate prospects to buy their product and services – instead of first understanding what unconsciously motivates them to act.

If you haven’t guessed what the most obvious tools are that’s staring you right in the face, its unconscious psychological devices – more particularly, the thinking habits of every brain on the face of the planet earth.

Unconscious psychological devices are “motivations” of the mind that are embedded deep within a person’s brain, and require a simple “push button” trigger to activate an automatic response action from their brain in the form of placing an order, a request for more information (generating leads), and/or a phone call or visit to the store or other place of business.

The concept of mind control has always been irresistible to
copywriters, salespeople, marketers and entrepreneurs. Why? Obviously, it gives the person who knows these psychological devices the privileged benefits to “push button” automatic fortunes.

If you’re a writer, in business or in the marketing arena who’s
interested in specializing in this million dollar knowledge, you’re in luck because I’m going to share 7 of them with you right now. And here they are:

Placebos, Prayer, and Pain Relief

By Diana Hartman

The belief that a divine being could be called upon to assist with one's health needs is not new. Also aged is the assertion of relieving symptoms with the idea of treatment rather than actual treatment. Scientists have been diligently researching both ideas with the help of positron emission tomography (PET), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and electroencephalograph (EEG) tests. The conclusions spell promise for placebos, but doom for deities.

Placebos have been found to have more than just a relieving effect. Some chronic pain patients can be trained to provide their own viable, lasting treatment. Too, how well a patient does with placebos, thought by the patient to be anti-depressants, might be a marker for how well they would do with the real deal.

While the existence of a higher power is in the heart of the believer, scientists have concluded there is no region of the brain specifically designed for heavenly communication. Researchers scanned the brains of 15 cloistered Carmelite nuns who were asked to recall their most heightened divine connection. The researchers observed as over a dozen areas of the nuns' brains were activated all at once — most notably, the caudate nucleus, the part of the brain associated with joy and love. The nuns did not submit to scans while in the process of achieving spiritual oneness, saying, "God cannot be summoned at will."

A devout agnostic, I met these results with a kind of "told you" attitude. I've many times witnessed the power of mind over matter when administering dummy pills to my mother and my children whenever the medicinal well ran dry in destitute times. Despite my mother's fervent skyward pleas, thy kingdom come never came to my house, leaving me with nothing more than a cup of sugar and an idea. We are not hard-wired to a celestial throne and the research proves it.

We are, however, wholly capable of something right nice — an ability almost lost in a cloud of spiritual vs. medical debate and a dispute over terms. The means by which a patient can learn to harness their own brainpower to relieve their suffering is scientifically proven. Does it really matter, then, what the individual sufferer calls this process or to whom they attribute the power? The parts of the brain activating those regions responsible for relieving pain and creating a sense of serenity are, in fact, activated by the person hosting said brain. Scientists rightly attribute the ability to the person and reasonably expect the person to take credit for what they've accomplished.

The Grand Secret of Scientology

By Tom Glaister
Source: Consumer Affairs

Tom Cruise has been much in the news lately. A renowned Scientologist, he got in some trouble for condemning Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants to treat her post-natal blues.

Apart from an intuition that there were any number of more serious issues facing the world, the report struck me as particularly ironic as Tom Cruise was quoted as calling psychiatry a "pseudo-science."

While the pharmacology market is undoubtedly driven by the desire to make a buck, for a Scientologist like Cruise to talk about pseudo-science is really for the pot to call the kettle black.

My first contact with Scientology was in the street where I was invited to come and take a "free stress test."

Not much in life comes for free but I had an hour to kill so I took up the offer of a shiny Scientologist called Steve to sit in a plastic chair on the sidewalk and answer some questions.

I was seated in front of a black device that looked like a cross between a CB radio and a games machine from the early 80's -- the E-Meter. Two wires ran to a couple of narrow tin cans that I was instructed to hold in my hands while Steve fired at me questions about my personal life. I answered as best I could and a little needle picked up electric signals from my body. Steve took down the measurements with a grim nod of the head.

"You need help," he eventually declared.

I did?

"You bet. But don't worry -- read this best-selling book "Dianetics" by L. Ron Hubbard and we'll get you on course to a new life. Look at me -- ten years ago I was a wreck, depressed, addicted to drugs like coffee and nicotine, but then I found the Church of Scientology..."

In short, it was the same rap that I'd heard from Herbalife salesmen, "born-again" evangelists and Hare Krishna devotees knocking on my door over the years.

Could the Mysterious Pineal Gland be the Third Eye?

By Dr Jill Ammon-Wexler
Source: Quantum-Self.com

Did you realize that your body actually has three physical eyes?

Our mysterious “third eye” was pondered by mystics through the ages, and has long been believed to be the source of a higher “inner vision.”

You may be surprised to learn that such a “third eye” actually does exist. It’s a tiny gland in your brain – the pineal gland. The pineal gland is located in the exact geometric center of your brain. Interestingly, this correlates to the exact location of the ancient Great Pyramid that sits in the center of our physical planet.

Your pineal gland is about the size of a pea, and sits in a tiny cave behind and above the pituitary gland. It is located directly behind your eyes, and is attached to your brain’s third ventricle.

And yes, it’s real!

The true function of this mysterious gland has long been contemplated by philosophers and spiritual adepts. The ancient Greeks believed the pineal gland was our connection to the “Realms of Thought.” The great philosopher Descartes called it the “Seat of the Soul.”

Scientists Tackle Secrets of Time Travel

Source: BBC

Experiments aimed at unlocking secrets of time travel are being led by Aberdeen University.

Researchers are examining the fabric of space time and what science fiction authors refer to as the fourth dimension.

Dr Charles Wang will study the microscopic movement of atoms, which can be affected by the earth spinning. He said: "This is a very interesting possibility which cannot entirely be ruled out by physics."

Albert Einstein said instead of considering space to be a shapeless vacuum it should be looked at as an object.

The theory is for something to exist it must have length, breadth and thickness, the three dimensions. It must also have something else. An object exists from the moment it is created to the moment it is destroyed. In between those moments is the duration of time - the so-called fourth dimension.

HG Wells wrote the Time Machine about it - now Dr Wang hopes to make it real.

He is a reader in the College of Physical Sciences and a member of the Aberdeen centre for applied dynamics research.

Dr Wang said he is waiting for the European Space Agency (ESA) to launch a science satellite to aid his research. He told BBC Scotland: "If you have curved space time, the time circles and you might just travel in time.

"If we can slow down the atom and isolate it and guide into the fluctuation then there's a possibility it's there.

"The increased sensitivity obtained by a space experiment certainly makes a space mission very worthwhile.

"If successful the results will have a profound impact on our understanding of the fundamental nature of space and time in the universe."

Dr Wang however has time on his hands, as the ESA satellite is not due for launch until 2015.

Research Suggests That Beliefs Control Our Genes

Source: Dream Manifesto

The Biology Of Belief: Unleashing The Power Of Consciousness, Matter And Miracles is a groundbreaking work in the field of New Biology. Author Dr. Bruce Lipton is a former medical school professor (University of Wisconsin) and research scientist (Stanford University School of Medicine).

His experiments, and that of other leading-edge scientists, have examined in great detail the processes by which cells receive information. The implications of this research radically change our understanding of life. It shows that genes/DNA do not control our biology; that instead, DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic messages emanating from our positive and negative thoughts.

Dr. Lipton’s profoundly hopeful synthesis of the latest and best research in cell biology and quantum physics is being hailed as a major breakthrough showing that our bodies can be changed as we retrain our thinking.

Dr. Bruce Lipton is an internationally recognized authority in bridging science and spirit. He has been a guest speaker on dozens of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national conferences.

Dr. Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist. He received his Ph.D. Degree from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville before joining the Department of Anatomy at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine in 1973. Dr. Lipton’s research on muscular dystrophy, studies employing cloned human stem cells, focused upon the molecular mechanisms controlling cell behavior. An experimental tissue transplantation technique developed by Dr. Lipton and colleague Dr. Ed Schultz and published in the journal Science was subsequently employed as a novel form of human genetic engineering.

In 1982, Dr. Lipton began examining the principles of quantum physics and how they might be integrated into his understanding of the cell’s information processing systems. He produced breakthrough studies on the cell membrane, which revealed that this outer layer of the cell was an organic homologue of a computer chip, the cell’s equivalent of a brain. His research at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, between 1987 and 1992, revealed that the environment, operating though the membrane, controlled the behavior and physiology of the cell, turning genes on and off.

Hypnosis May Cure a Type of Baldness

Source: Times of India

People with a patchy form of hair loss called alopecia areata might be helped with hypnosis, a preliminary study suggests.

"Hypnotherapy may enhance the mental well-being of patients with alopecia areata and it may improve clinical outcome," Dr Ria Willemsen, of Free University in Brussels, and colleagues write in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Alopecia areata is an auto-immune disease characterised by sudden, recurrent hair loss in round spots from the scalp or any part of the body that has hair.

Psychological factors, such as stressful events and psychotrauma have also been reported to play a role in the onset of the condition, but few studies have looked at the efficacy of psychological treatments.

Willemsen's team explored hypnosis as a treatment for 21 individuals with extensive hair loss on 30% or more of their scalp that had lasted for at least three months.

These patients, all of whom previously failed to respond to treatment with steroids, were followed for anywhere from six months to six years.

Does God Want You to Be Rich?

Source: CNN

(Editor's note: The following is a summary of this week's Time magazine cover story.)

In three of the Gospels, Jesus warns that each of his disciples may have to "deny himself" and even "take up his Cross."

In support of this prediction, he contrasts the fleeting pleasures of today with the promise of eternity: "For what profit is it to a man," he asks, "if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?"

Generations of churchgoers have understood that being Christian means being ready to sacrifice. But for a growing number of Christians, the question is better restated, "Why not gain the whole world plus my soul?"

For several decades, a philosophy has been percolating in the 10 million-strong Pentecostal wing of Christianity that seems to turn the Gospels' passage on its head. Certainly, it allows, Christians should keep one eye on heaven. But the new good news is that God doesn't want us to wait.

Known (or vilified) under a variety of names -- Word of Faith, Health and Wealth, Name It and Claim It, Prosperity Theology -- its emphasis is on God's promised generosity in this life. In a nutshell, it suggests that a God who loves you does not want you to be broke.

Its signature verse could be John 10:10: "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." In a Time poll, 17 percent of Christians surveyed said they considered themselves part of such a movement, while a full 61 percent believed that God wants people to be prosperous.

11-year-old Boy Breaks World Memory Record

Source: Gulf News

A child prodigy bested his own teacher to set a new world record for memorising the most number of random objects, thereby earning a place for himself in the Guinness Book of Records.

Nischal Narayanam, 11, looks like any other schoolboy but his amazing memory has put him among the select brand of Guinness world record holders.

A Class 6 student of the Gitanjali School here, Nischal achieved the feat by memorising 225 most random objects, beating his own master, Squadron Leader Jayasimha, who had set the record last year by memorising 200 objects.

Accompanied by his proud parents, Nischal announced his entry to the Guinness book at a news conference here yesterday, a day after receiving the relevant certificate from Guinness World Record Ltd.

The boy had performed for the Guinness World Record last month in the presence of a group of prominent people who acted as judges. He was not only able to recall all 225 assorted objects but also remembered the numbers assigned to them.

"I am very excited on achieving this feat. All the credit goes to my mother who is also my mentor," said Nischal.

"We are very happy with the feat our son achieved at this young age," said his father N. Nageswara Rao who is managing director of NCS Group of Companies.

Nischal's mother N. Padmavathy, a housewife with a doctorate in Sanskrit, found in her son some extraordinary memory power and mathematical skills and arranged for teachers like Jayasimha to hone these skills.

"One needs scientific methods and three qualities of concentration, seriousness and determination to achieve this feat," said Nischal, who solves mathematical problems with the help of the Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System, a method that works faster than a computer.

He can also perform rare feats on the abacus and blindfold chess. "Master Nischal made everyone of us proud not only us but the entire country by getting into the Guinness Book. He can act as a role model, icon and guide for everyone," said Sqdr Ldr Jayasimha.

Is Your Phone Psychic an Out-of-Work Actor?

By Adrian Cooper,
Excerpt from Psychic Hotlines Exposed

Many so called "psychic hotlines" are simply people such as out of work actors trained in the art of giving fake "live psychic readings" using a process known as "cold reading".

Here is the official dictionary definition, that anyone can read for themselves of "Cold Reading":

The Dictionary Definition of "Cold Reading"

"Cold reading is a technique used by salespeople, interrogators, hypnotists, psychics, graphologists, palmists, astrologers, con-men etc. to convince another person that they know more about them than they actually do. Generally, the cold reader will make a series of vague statements, will observe the subject's reactions, and then will refine the original statements according to those reactions. The technique is sometimes applied in order to falsely convince an audience that the reader possesses psychic abilities"

........

So lucrative is the billion dollar "psychic industry" that these actors can make more money giving "cold readings" over the telephone, than they ever could working as an actor.

And it is not only actors.

The majority of people on psychic hotlines are probably using cold reading in some form.

To give a cold reading these people need absolutely no psychic ability, clairvoyant ability or any other psychic power whatsoever.

It really is just a clever scam to deliberately mislead people for dollars per minute, knowing that they can never really be held accountable because what they are saying cannot be easily disproven.

The Unholy Trinity of Hitler, Stalin, and Harry Potter

By Nick Pisa,
Source: Daily Mail

Adolf Hitler and Russian leader Stalin were possessed by the Devil, the Vatican's chief exorcist has claimed.

Father Gabriele Amorth who is Pope Benedict XVI's 'caster out of demons' made his comments during an interview with Vatican Radio.

Father Amorth said: "Of course the Devil exists and he can not only possess a single person but also groups and entire populations.

"I am convinced that the Nazis were all possessed. All you have to do is think about what Hitler - and Stalin did. Almost certainly they were possessed by the Devil.

"You can tell by their behaviour and their actions, from the horrors they committed and the atrocities that were committed on their orders. That's why we need to defend society from demons."

According to secret Vatican documents recently released wartime pontiff Pope Pius XII attempted a "long distance" exorcism of Hitler which failed to have any effect.

Tests Suggest Telephone Telepathy is Real

By Rupert Sheldrake
Author of
Seven Experiments That Could Change the World

Have you ever thought about someone for no apparent reason, and then that person rang on the telephone? Have you felt you were being watched, and turned round to find someone staring at you?

Recent surveys show that a majority of the population in Britain have had these experiences. If they are more than coincidences or illusions, they suggest that minds are more extensive than brains.

There is a growing body of evidence that telepathy and the sense of being stared at are real, with an active discussion of these topics in scientific journals — for example, last year a special issue of the Journal of Consciousness Studies was devoted to the ability to detect stares, for which the scientific name is scopaesthesia, from the Greek words for viewing and feeling. This ability may have a long evolutionary history. Animals that were able to detect the looks of hidden predators may well have survived better than animals without this ability.

Telepathy may also have deep biological roots, acting as a means of communication at a distance between members of animal groups. It is still expressed in domesticated animals, many of which seem to be able to detect the feelings and intentions of their owners beyond the range of the usual senses. For example, many dogs seem to know when their owners are coming home, and go to wait at a door. In some cases they do this when the person is still miles away, long before the animal could have heard familiar footsteps or car sounds. In a series of videotaped tests, I found that dogs still went and waited at the door when the owners returned at times randomly selected by the experimenter, when no one at home knew when they were coming, and when they travelled in unfamiliar vehicles such as taxis.

Many mothers still seem to feel when their children need them, even if they are miles away. Children whose absent mothers responded to their distress telepathically and returned to them would be more likely to survive than children with unresponsive mothers; so telepathic traits may have been favoured by natural selection.

Theories of Telepathy and Afterlife Cause Uproar at Science Forum

By Mark Henderson
Times Online

Scientists claiming to have evidence of life after death and the powers of telepathy triggered a furious row at Britain’s premier science festival yesterday. Organisers of the British Association for the Advancement of Science (the BA) were accused of lending credibility to maverick theories on the paranormal by allowing the highly controversial research to be aired unchallenged.

Leading members of the science establishment criticised the BA’s decision to showcase papers purporting to demonstrate telepathy and the survival of human consciousness after someone dies. They said that such ideas, which are widely rejected by experts, had no place in the festival without challenge from sceptics.

The disputed session featured research from Rupert Sheldrake, an independent biologist who is funded by Trinity College, Cambridge, that claims to have found evidence that some people know telepathically who is calling them before they answer the telephone.

Other presentations came from Peter Fenwick, a doctor who thinks deathbed visions suggest that consciousness survives when people die, and from Deborah Delanoy of the University of Hertfordshire, whose work suggests that people can affect the bodies of others by thinking about them.

Critics including Lord Winston and Sir Walter Bodmer, both former presidents of the BA, expressed particular alarm that the three speakers were allowed to hold a promotional press conference. Some said telepathy has already been found wanting in experiments, and had no place at a scientific meeting.

“Work in this field is a complete waste of time,” said Peter Atkins, Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oxford. “Although it is politically incorrect to dismiss ideas out of hand, in this case there is absolutely no reason to suppose that telepathy is anything more than a charlatan’s fantasy. ”

Is God In Your Brain?

Source: NeuroScienceMarketing.com

Is God in your brain? Or, to put it in different terms, is an intense religious experience merely a neurological phenomenon? Could one artificially induce a spiritual event by stimulating specific areas of the brain? While we aren’t at the point where we can flip a switch to get godly, intriguing new research has identified some of the neurological characteristics of a religious experience. A group of nuns were studied using an fMRI machine as they relived their most religious experience in order to identify the areas of the brain which experienced more activity.

Nature reports in 'Nuns Go Under the Brain Scanner' that a team led by Mario Beauregard and V. Paquette at the University of Montreal recruited 15 Carmelite nuns to undergo the scan process. Rather than being asked to pray, which the nuns reported didn’t always lead to an intense spiritual experience, they were asked to fully relive the most mystical moment in their lives.

Perhaps thankfully for religiously-oriented people, no single brain area stood out as the center of spiritual activity. Earlier research suggested that the temporal cortex might be the “God spot” in the brain and the origin of religious feelings.

"The researchers found a collection of brain areas that were more active during the recollected mystical experience than the emotional one, they report in Neuroscience Letters. The caudate nucleus, for example, which is associated with positive feelings such as happiness and bliss, appeared more active during the mystical memories. The team also saw particular activity in regions thought to integrate physical feelings from the rest of the body, which perhaps explains the perception that the nuns had become one with God and their surroundings. They also found an increase in certain types of electrical activity associated with deep sleep and meditation.

...The new study also found activation in the temporal cortex, one of many regions that were involved. Beauregard says that this is what might be expected of a complicated emotional and cognitive experience."

There’s some interest in being able to artificially create a spiritual experience in individuals, as some health benefits seem to accrue. The article doesn’t mention it, but such an experience might be desirable on its own merits, even by non-religious people. The ethical considerations here could be interesting if research leads to a means to stimulate a spiritual, or pseudo-spiritual experience. Due to the complexity of the experience, though, it looks like the “God button” will be at least as elusive as the mythical “buy button.”

The Secret Science Behind Hypnosis

Dr. Laura De Giorgio,
DeepTranceNow.com

Someone recently emailed me and asked in what sense is hypnosis a science?

The word science, from Latin scientia, means knowing, and in the broadest sense refers to any knowledge. The word science also refers to any systematic field of study and knowledge gained from such study. In a more restricted sense, science refers to a system of acquiring knowledge based on empiricism, experimentation, and methodological naturalism (an assumption that observable events in nature can be explained by natural causes), as well as to the organized body of knowledge gained by such research.

The science behind hypnosis, the science of using one's mind power, is governed by the same natural laws and processes that are present everywhere in nature. Thoughts are seeds and the process of planting seed thoughts in one's subconscious mind is equivalent to planting seeds in the soil to produce desired fruits. A tomato seed will produce only tomato. Seed thoughts of health will produce health. Seed thoughts of lack will produce lack. Seed thoughts of prosperity will produce prosperity.

For a seed to take root, it has to be planted in the fertile, receptive soil. The same is true whether the seed of the fruits is to be planted in the earth, or the seed of an idea is to be planted in the subconscious mind. For the idea to take root in the subconscious mind, the subconscious has to contain some matching, corresponding ideas, some receptiveness to the idea, otherwise the idea will be rejected.

We live in an ocean of consciousness and energy, in an ocean of intelligent energy, in an ocean of energy which responds to thought. As a matter of fact, our bodies and everything in the material universe is fashioned out of that consciousness and energy.
